Install protonplus, then using it, install GE-Proton9-10 (or whatever is the most recent) for Steam. Then switch to using that within Steam (and Lutris, if you use that for other games, so it will use the umu-launcher instead).

See if that helps.

These are all (mostly) non-vocal, great for some background noise. Great games too!

FrostyCaveman , to til in TIL kobolds in Japan are dog-people because of a mistranslation in a copy of AD&D in the 80s

I first heard of Kobolds in the PC game Age of Wonders. They were depicted as scrawny little goblin like creatures who lived in Orcish garbage piles. They had glowing green eyes. Certainly not doglike.

Plus they had a poison melee attack. Respect for those little resource reclamation engineer dudes

ByteOnBikes OP ,

That’s where my mind goes when I think of kobold.

Like, the halfling of Orcs. And yes to poison attacks for some reason!

Weird, I haven’t had any issues since I bought it on steam whenever the official release was.

scytale , to asklemmy in Where to find reliable reviews/ratings for movies?

What I do is go on the wiki page of the movie and check the Reception section. It will have a summary of ratings from various sources, then I can sort of infer if it’s something worth watching by “averaging” the ratings.

PlexSheep , to linux in What is something you want to use, yet are NOT using?

Any modern DE in my fucking Raspberry Pi 5. I tried going Debian testing, broken packages. I tried installing other OSes, fedora didn’t even boot, Ubuntu broke in installation and now won’t let me log in.

Gnome in Debian stable feels too old and I can’t get the screen keyboard working and disable the dann screen reader. I just want a box to put on my tv.

Meundies male line is basically, what if we took the soft stretchy fabric used exclusively in women’s clothing but cut it it to fit the outie genital people.

I love my meundies. My favorite underwear

MoonMelon , to asklemmy in Men in their 40s, what’s one piece of advice for men in their 20s?

When things are great, even small things like a cup of coffee with a friend or a quiet morning, take a minute to say to yourself, “this is really great.” Say it out loud. Years later you will realize those moments are as good as it gets, and if you don’t mark them they just disappear. Bad moments stick around in your head regardless, but the good ones need to be memorialized.

“illegal” is overrated, anyway. Trump did a ton of illegal stuff and yet, here we are.

ComradePorkRoll ,

It’s really hard to take the “law” seriously when we constantly see rich people getting away with violating it.

OhmsLawn , to asklemmy in Men in their 40s, what’s one piece of advice for men in their 20s?

Go to the dentist. Get a little exercise. Find a way to reduce calories over the next 20 years, spend as little as possible. Borrow a little money for your car. Stay away from credit cards until you make enough to pay the cards in full every month. Keep track of every skill you learn on the job, using that information to transition into higher-paying jobs. Get a savings account. Spend as little as possible without skimping on food quality. Save 1 months salary and keep that in checking. At the end of each month, transfer everything above the target funds into savings. Save 3 months salary for an emergency fund. Once this financial foundation is established, divide additional funds into two buckets: one gets invested each month, the other is for major purchases and travel.

loaExMachina , to memes in replacing the thinkpad

A few months ago when I had to replace my shitty HP laptop from 2018, I found a secondhand Thjnkpad model from 2013 for 90€ which was better in every way.

velox_vulnus ,

But a processor from 2013 is kinda whack, and there’s no physical quad-core with logical octa-core, so that kinda defeats the purpose, right? Honestly, I’d love to have a Thinkpad with a high TDP workstation processor that is good enough to build NodeJS/Rust from source in a few hours, and no dGPU.
