Padeira de Aljubarrota killed 7 Castillians by cooking them in her bakery’s oven in 1385.
Brites de Almeida das born in 1350 with 6 fingers in each hand, a though lady, could easily kill a man with her hands (and did it a few times), was kidnapped and enslaved in Northern Africa, managed to escape with her bare hands, helped out 2 other Portuguese guys to escape, stole a boat, sailed back with the guys, had a prob with one of them, killed him. Tried to establish herself in a honest way, but crime and murder were always coming her way somehow, ended up moving towns and disguise herself as a man. Met and older lady friend, a baker, that wanted to maker her an honest person. They lived happily as a couple. Older lady dies, she inherits the bakery. Castille tries to occupy Portugal, big battle, Portugal is outnumbered but manages to have a spectacular win. Some castillans are running around and looting. She lures 7 into her bakery, cooks them alive in her oven. Forever a national hero and legend.
Nothing of this is proven, including the Castillans she killed (which is the factoid that made her a hero) but there’re even songs about her and whenever Portugal plays against Spain in football you’ll see some people dressed as a baker on the stadium.
A lesbian serial-killer who escapsed enslavement to kill Castillans in one of the most important battles of our history? To me nothing can be truer than this, independently of what you can prove or not.
I live in Europe so I don’t know availability in your region, but based on your requirements the perfect match is Sony Xperia 10 series. The latest is the Xperia 10v, although Sony also sells the 10iv and 10iii (my phone) at reduced prices.
If your budget is bigger look at the Xperia 5iv or the upcoming 5v.
These phones are compact, beautifully designed, very comfortable to hold, fast, light UI, have great cameras, headphone jack, SD card slots and full waterproofing. Plus at just 6" the 10v is one of the most compact phones on the market.
They have a 21:9 screen which means its narrower than other phones and a bit taller, but not much, making it super easy to hold and pocket.
Really, really nice phones.
Also I’ve emailed their support with bug reports and feature suggestions and they always reply and forward them to the Devs, so they are very customer focused.
Plus they typically allow easy bootloader unlock so you can often try other ROMs as well.
I really like the idea of the desktop mode but it’s not implemented universally yet. And it may never be. Unless all phones use it, it won’t be widespread in use.
I think the desktop will still be with us for a long time, especially laptops.
I recommend using Linux instead of Windows or Mac as it’s the only real free, user freedom respecting, ethical, privacy respecting operating system.
With an electric stove, it doesn’t matter if the vent exhaust goes outside. For gas stoves it’s recommended that the gas byproducts are removed from the home. Sorry if this wasn’t clear.
Can’t you get a repair of your Pixel? Should be much cheaper than buying a new phone.
The Tensor is fine. It will do everything you need it to except play games on high refresh rate. But that’s a niche case.
It’s more than enough for daily average use. Plus the Pixel photos are much better than the Samsung photos
If you really must upgrade, then I’d recommend the Asus ZenFone 10. Snapdragon 8 gen 2. Or wait until after the Samsung keynote today when they accounce the S24 and the price of the S23 should drop significantly.
Thank god… I’ve finally passed my kidney stone of a project. It’s not totally done but all of the hard bits are done. Just writing things up and sending it out now.
Literally lost 3-4kg in stress and missed meals / sleep. But I think we have something that might be worth it. Having a very career defining kind of year.
