Maybe I try cracking a game sometime! I used to play MyPlayCity games all the time and i can’t even open them because they aren’t even on myplaycity website and the ones aren’t opening at all and I don’t know why. I wish I could just play all the MyPlayCity games without worrying about anything!
Another Australian here who drinks water on tap. Some places have bad tasting water but it’s still drinkable. It’s probably only bad because it’s different.
US here. Yes, can confirm I can, and do drink water from the tap without boiling. The city provides, maintains, and regularly checks the safety of the water. Notices are put out if something damages the pipes and a “water boiling” policy is put out promptly over local radio and/or newspaper.
In the US, the only time you’d have to boil water before drinking in most places is if there’s something wrong with the water system and they put out a “boil water” advisory, and that’s pretty rare. It’s definitely not something you have to on a daily basis. Some people will use water filters but it’s not usually a necessity.
This might sound crazy, but i am just using the website via Firefox on my phone. Jerboa wasnt doing it for me, and someone recommended just using the website… I prefer it over jerboa. I imagine with all the development going on, there will be something better showing up, but until it does, I’m just going old school.
They don’t advertise it, just message support from your .edu email and tell them your username. They’ll apply it and let you use the STUDENT promo code. It’s 50% off the year plan so $5 a month.
I wish more people understood this concept in general. Whether it be making communities on a network like this, making discord servers, or even starting a small business – many times my friends and acquaintances have tried to create something that relies on people to keep it alive, but give no one a reason to want to engage with their platform/service/etc, expecting there to be a flood of people out of nowhere that will cause the system to support itself.
I’m surprised no one mentioned the Analogue Pocket, especially if you had cartridges. It does have support for ROMs as well. One of the best features is that you can sleep your device on even original cartridges
All Gameboy Advances play GB, GBC, and GBA. The best GBA is the SP model AG-101 which has a factory backlight screen. However, there are tons of modifications available for Gameboys out there. I say get a used GBA and go to www.retromodding.com and go to town on it. Customize it the way you want
For ROMs only, the absolute best way to play is to get a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS and install home brew software. And as a bonus you can play the entire DS and 3DS library as well.
FYI the Nintendo DS can play GBA games, but it does not support GB or GBC.
I know you said you wanted handheld, but for anyone else reading my absolute favorite way to play is with a Gamecube and a Gameboy Player! It actually plays all GB, GBC, and GBA games! Gameboy Players can be cheap, but the boot disc is expensive. To get around this there is home brew software for the Gameboy Player that is very good, although I haven’t tried it myself. To use it you need an Action Replay and a cheap SD card to GC memory card adapter. The software will boot the Action Replay first, then boot whatever is on the SD card. (I bet there are ways to load roms too but I haven’t looked). I play with a Raphnet SNES to Gamecube adapter.
Bake bacon on cookie sheets at 375 for about 20 minutes. You can make a ton of bacon very quickly, with almost no mess, and all the bacon is perfectly flat. We have a double oven and we can make about 4 pounds of bacon in about 30 minutes this way. :)
And then save the bacon grease in a jar to add to gravys! I add a tablespoon or so to my sausage gravy for biscuits and gravy and it is freaking delicious. Can also use it to grease a cast iron pan before making a pizzookie for a little extra flavor.
Is there a way to get rid of the space on the left and right sides of the screen and make comments and posts cover the whole browser window like old Reddit does?
V. 0.18 disables CAPTCHA support, which we're not willing to do at this time, as there are a lot of bots on the platform. It's supposed to be re-instated in 0.18.1, so we're probably going to wait for that.
From what we understand, it should be possible to simply bypass the warning that Jerboa sends, and use the instance as normal - let us know if that's not the case.
Also, the instance can be installed as a PWA through Chrome on Android phones - I've found that to be a good experience overall.
Ah shoot, I just confirmed this. We had tried it with Jerboa, but we were already logged in.
While we consider our options, I would suggest accessing the instance through your web browser. I don't think you'll have any issues doing it that way, and the mobile interface is pretty decent.
