I still haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard how great Veloren apparently is. It’s an MMO voxel game that takes inspiration from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and is written in Rust.
Some US friends are sharing with me their library cards and it is great. I use them few times a year but you get access to many content. It is just a a shame I can’t access CD Or DVD online.
SkillUp’s “This week in video games” videos are great both for news about the industry, and what’s coming up and worth keeping an eye out for. Listening to podcasts is another good one. I listen to MinnMax every week in particular.
I will be using this computer mainly to write documents, make the occasional presentations, browse the web, and watch videos and movies. So no photo- or video editing nor gaming at all.
Then go for a Raspberry pi 3. (No, not rpi 4 or the rpi 5 one). It’s cheap, with a power draw low enough to leave it running 24/7 (it will not increase your energy bills by the slightest). Downside is that you’ll have to learn some Linux “tricks” that will (definitely) “grind your gears”, but eh… it’ll be a fun ride if you are willing to lose some sanity for the sake of enjoying a “It’s like nothing is happening to my power bills at all!” power of the convenience it’ll bring to your life and your lifestyle as well.
That is completely wrong – there are a couple distros out there that work “out of the box” without the need of a custom kernel. Not just for the rpi, but for many other “obscure” pcs, including a thermostat.
I did this recently. I bought an album off iTunes and Apple Music fucked my library up so I had to revert to a backup which happened to be before I backed up that album. That album is no longer available for my region, according to iTunes, and iTunes/Apple support has been unhelpful in completely ignoring all my support tickets to ask how I can download a copy of this album I paid for.
Fuck it. I downloaded the album from less than legal ways. I did pay for the album, after all.
For what its worth to OP you might want to look at what laws apply in your area. Many countries may indeed be okay with you downloading a song you already own (as per transiet punk) BUT be against you breaking copyright protection (decrypting it).
Yeah, I had a de-gooogled android ROM that wouldn’t allow me to verify that I had in fact bought an app. So I just downloaded the unlocked apk and it just works.
