It’s not so much technobabble, but from mid-TNG on through DS9 and VOY it seemed that, at least once per episode, “Some kind of…” was used to describe anything new.
You guys are somewhat still mad that the censorship of defederation has cut you off from an influx of newcomers to influence. And your tears are absolutely delicious.
They aren’t mad though, they enjoy the instances they are federated with and are happy they defederated sh.itjust.works and that Lemmy.world “pre-emptively as a last resort” defederated them before even federating.
Having a dedicated Leftist space without constant liberalism is nice.
I can understand how having you own space is enjoyable, but you won’t convince me that you don’t care that your influence has been contained. Otherwise you wouldn’t feel the need to defend your instance so hard here, going as far as brigading other communities en masse?
You want anyone to believe you don’t care about being deplatformed? Stop acting like you actually care.
Well, you aren’t really talking about gaming on Linux. You’re talking about running Windows games on Linux. Wine and Linux are absolutely amazing for gaming, but it’s mostly up to the developers at this point.
About waht you are saying about Anno; I have a feeling you’re not fully understanding Wine/Proton and how it works. By learning a bit about it you’ll probably start to understand what actually is not working. A good place to start is always the ProtonDB page.
whats the difference between gaming on linux and running windows games on linux? isnt both of them gaming on linux
protondb as good as a resource it may be, i tried it often, with anno 1404 too, but i honestly dont recall tweaks there ever working for me (for games rated to be running of course, i dont try games that are rated in the red naturally)
I see that linux is pretty good in benchmarks and i believe it so too, however, that is not the case for me and im at a point where im torn between “something is wrong with me and my setup” and “what voodoo is everyone else using that they arent telling me?”
What an awesome, empowering name! She’s a queen for sure. You’re right to keep them separated as a precaution. Let them get used to one another’s scents and monitor their integration.
Thank you for rescuing this kitty. I predict a happy life based on your actions so far. You’re being thoughtful about how to bring her into your home and that’s awesome.
Who the hell dumps a kitty in a restaurant? What a strange beginning.
Once again, I love that you chose that name. I instantly recognized it and did a web search to confirm. Hello fellow history nerd!
JJ-Trek, hands down. From “red matter” to interstellar transporter beams to Khan’s magic blood.
The reason it’s so bad is that it’s fucking plot holes galore. By the end of Star Trek (2009), starships are obsolete. By the end of Into Darkness, everyone should be immortal.
Treknobabble is supposed to serve the plot, but this shit undermines the entire premise instead. It’s ridiculous!
Meh, Trek is always terrible at following up after the big movie action. Aging is reversible if Insurrection is canon. Literal resurrection has been possible since at least Khan. Time travel is routine in Voyage Home. None of it makes sense outside of the context of the movie, they’re basically their own canon even before JJ.
What blew my mind about that whole intro is they hid the entire ship UNDERWATER AT THE SHORELINE with a severe risk of damage to the local terrain and sea life instead of, you know, being in orbit.
It was bound to happen eventually. I’ve also been exhausted with the vegan drama bullshit. It’s completely unproductive, and, at this point, rage bait.
Edit: I need to see what dried beans I have and maybe go shopping. I will give this a try with a couple different types of beans and report back if I fart or not.
Hope you have some alpha-galactosidase at your disposal.
The simplified explanation: A reason beans give some people gas is due to certain types of sugars and carbohydrates they contain. Those sugars are water soluble. Seems like brewing beans would concentrate those sugars and lead to epic tootage.
Also, one method for reducing how much gas that beans cause is to soak them in lots of water. Basically, soak them for up to 8 hours, drain, rinse, and repeat a couple more times. It works on the same principal, that the soaking process will remove at least some of the problematic, water soluble sugars. Supposedly adding a small amount of baking soda helps, too. I’m less certain about that.
