I got the Apple Vision Pro. It’s awesome, but to be honest, it doesn’t do much, yet. It’s amazing hardware and software, but there are few built-in apps. It’ll grow and expand, but there’s just not a lot you can do with it yet....
I know spam posts have been around for a while but not like this....
Restaurant? Library? Other? (Bonus points if its toxic people resistant)
I have a Jellyfin instance on my local server which I forward to the public web via a cloudflare tunnel. I’m not sure how secure it is, and I keep getting random requests from all over the world. It’s my first experience maintaining something on a public domain so I may be worrying about something obvious, but some advice...
do you know that minecraft mod that autosorts your inventory? is there are project that can autosort a messy file system and put all of your files of a similar nature into a well organised, well named order. obviously this would require ai that could do image, language, and audio recognition but is there anything in the works? i...
This started a few days ago. I’ve been getting texts from friends with iPhones in the wrong order, and seemingly they are getting mine late. So I texted a friend whose grandmother was in the hospital yesterday, and her conversation with me looked like this. These texts from her arrived around a minute apart each. I think the...
I have an oldish Dell Latitude 7480 which doesn’t meet the requirements for upgrade to Windows 11 so I thought I’d take the opportunity to install Linux on it as I only really need it for day to day web stuff / studying / media and light gaming....
I am looking to setup a public DNS server and I found this DNS server...
My current setup has my DHCP + DNS on my Unifi USG. However, as I have all my apps hosted on a different server (unifi, plex, home assistant, NAS, etc.) I’ve ran into issues trying to get things set up....
Unsure if this is the place to ask or not but figured it was closest to it....
That means we could also use bicorn, tricorn, etc.
I’ve hit a wall with a weird Wireguard issue. I’m trying to connect my phone (over cell) to my home router using wireguard and it will not connect....
Hi, I have a bunch of Raspberry Pies hosting all kinds of stuff and I want to have a monitoring solution for all of that. What would be your recommendations?...
I’m going to start off but saying I know that self-hosting email can be a bad idea. That being said, I’m trying to de-googlfy my life and would like to experiment....
I live in an apartment building. Another unit recently caught on fire, and the building was evacuated. Smoke was everywhere. No heat reached my part of the building. I have not seen any soot, either....
Hey all! I’m still in the somewhat early stages of setting up my home server. I have Nextcloud installed for file storage/management. However, realizing that it would be nice to have access to the entire storage drive for the server, I installed File Browser....
It too me a while to work out why my Nextcloud stuff wasn’t working on my phone. It wasn’t until I went to duckdns.org on mobile data I saw the block. I had changed ISP from one with IPv6, which I had setup, to an ISP without it, and thought it might be that. But it was just coincidence....

I have used Linux on and off for 15 years. I consider myself a casual user and stuck to the mainstream DEs (mostly KDE, XFCE and some Cinnamon). Gnome has been a hurdle for me before and after the big version 40 changes, I couldn’t get my head around how they handled the workspaces and workflow. At some point I I tried out an...
For a few years now, I’ve been using and paying for Deezer, but recently they’ve started to do away with the features that I preferred about their platform, so I’m wondering of there is any options for me here.
I am currently using Windows on an older HP Laptop, which I intend to replace with a Framework 16 by next summer, but my Desktop PC at home has been running EndeavourOS, my first ever Linux distro, since last summer, so I have some Arch-based experience....
I know people who only poop at home. I can’t imagine being out in space for years. With holodeck technology… Someone is bound to have written a program that simulated their bathroom at home.
Are there any safe, functional apps for iOS mobile devices (specifically iPhone, but iPad would be nice too) that let you use Youtube without ads? Something like what Youtube Revanced is for Android.
