Recenty I changed my old NVidia GPU with nouveau to AMD. I installed firmware-amd-graphics and set up radron kernel driver. But when I try to start X11 with default config (X -configure) it fails with no screen error. Kernel radeon driver works well and tty resolution is proper. USB C Gigabit ethernet adapters wont work in Windows 10 unless I boot into a Linux distro first?

First off, if there is a better place or forum to ask this, I will take suggestions. I haven’t gone to any Linux forums because most of the ones I looked at did not want to support anything specifically Windows related, and this is primarily an issue in Windows....

Telltale was famous for games like this as well. But yeah it’s like depending on your actions it can change the story and thus play more like a movie with a...

How do you use Wine/Proton? Italian

One of the biggest things holding me back from jumping definitively on Linux is possibly getting rid of the apps/games i’m comfortable with and know well. How do you exaclty use Wine/Proton? I tried the built in docks in Gnome on Pop, Ubuntu, and also Plank. None respond to an attempted drag via the...

Should I be concerned if I receive a spam email that contains the first 3 and last four digits of my phone number, with the middle 3 being replaced with X's?

I haven’t opened the email, I’m just looking at the preview that gmail provides and it contains the name of my email with the first character missing and most of my phone number, like I stated in the title of my post. How concerned, if at all, should I be and is there anything I should be doing?

A sad story... Follow a lemmy user

The current functionality of the #Lemmy platform requires users to utilize their #Mastodon accounts to follow other Lemmy users, which differs from the approach taken by platforms like #mbin. This limitation can be seen as an inconvenience for those who prefer a more integrated user experience within Lemmy itself.
