Youtube player
Hi guys! The other day I think saw mentioned in the passing a sort of youtube frontend player for linux, I think. But I didn’t see that mention again, and couldn’t get back to it. Kinda like a desktop app that allows to see videos, subscriptions etc…does such a thing exist? Or did I just dream it?
Read this post by /u/[email protected] before recommending OpenSUSE during these trying times.
Red Hat is going full evil mode and Fedora, which is largely controlled by Red Hat, is also pushing forward with questionable decisions. At this time, as some Fedora users look for a new $HOME there are many recommending OpenSUSE but before doing this, please read the post below....
So I wanna download a car...
Lets say in 10 years, 3D printing technology become so advanced, almost anything can be perfectly replicated. So I find some leaked car 3d file, I download it, I print the car. What current laws would I be violating? Civil or criminal? And what future laws can you anticipate?

Can someone explain what's up with the memes that start with "Nobody:"
I don’t understand the “Nobody” part, especially since in most memes it’s just blank. It makes sense when “Nobody” was saying something that most people disagree with, eg:...

If I subscribe to a community that's from a different instance than my "home" instance, where should I browse to see that community?
For instance, I made an account here in Lemmy.world because it seemed like a nice, well rounded place to start. However, I want stuff from TTRPG.network to show up when I browse my “frontpage,” but all I see is my Lemmy.World communities....
YSK about Snowflake, a way to contribute to TOR with no effort/money
Why YSK: Tor provides a secure, anonymous access to the web to people who can’t do it carelessly like we do (journalists and citizens of authoritarian countries for example)....

How do self-hosters or smaller sites handle security?
Supposing that they, y’know, try to keep their setups secure anyway. With how much you see about breaches of different sites, it’s hard to imagine individuals and smaller groups being able to keep their stuff secure....
Should I finish tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow? (no spoilers)
I started reading it a month ago (I’m a slow reader lol) and got to the middle of the book. I really liked the first part but half way it started to feel like it’s repeating itself and lose its meaning, like where does it go? It feels stuck....

how do you make friends if large gatherings arent your thing?
I do like large gatherings, but I don’t really do well meeting people and making friends in them. I find it too chaotic and difficult to “be myself” with so many people. I also feel there tends to be more shallow conversation in these settings making it great for banter and social energy but less great for connecting and...
What is the difference between "Active", "Hot", and "Top Hour/Day/etc" when browsing Lemmy posts?
I suspect the meaning is obvious and I’m just being a silly goose, but I’ve just been sort of bouncing around among them, since I’m not quite sure of the difference.
