I deleted all my post from my reddit account, can they still monetize them?
Deleting a post is simply marking a piece of text so nobody sees it, but I think the text is still stored in their servers....

It’s weird how I’ll see a dream and really ponder over it right after waking only for it to be completely out of my memory shortly after.
I am worried that externally caused vibrations might damage my HDDs (NAS in the planning). The subway / metro runs under my building, and every time the train passes, this causes slight but measurable vibrations in the 50-100 Hz frequency range. It is more like a rumbling noise than the usual vibration of a passing train....
For backstory: My partner and I have been playing Super Mario Party so long that it’s gotten boring. They asked me what I wanted for my birthday (which is coming up), and I thought something like that would be cool. If X-COM 2 had a local co-op on the Switch, I’d do that, but is there something similar?
I’m a novice Linux user. Comfortable with command line but far from a whiz. Have to duckduckgo a lot of stuff to figure out what I’m doing....
Hi! I’m looking for some book recommendations on Linux, networking and security. I’d rather they were 3 separate books, instead of an All-in-one. I know I can learn about this on the internet, but this is kind of my way of reading books. Some like thrillers, I like learning about tech what can I say haha It’s not for...
I recently checked back on the PiratedGames subreddit after long while not being there. And I wonder what other people here think but in my opinion, the quality of the subreddit has gone downhill....

Has anyone ever seen this? I’m using the default Google calendar app and this is happening on my Pixel 5a and I just got a new Pixel 6a and it is still happening. I look at Month View on my calendar and there are no appointments on January 28th through Feb 3rd. Even if I click on those dates, there are no appointments. If I...

I am going to build a router with OPNSense (in Proxmox, on an HP thin client). I am stuck with setting up the networking (I have the Inel 4-port card). I don’t really know how to get started. Right now my device has one LAN cable going into it, and my consumer router is doing everything. I can set up a bridge for the other...
So I was looking into getting port forwarding set up and I realized just how closed-off the internet has gotten since the early days. It’s concerning. It used to be you would buy your own router and connect it to the internet, and that router would control port-forwarding and what-have-you....
I don’t know how to put tags on (using eternity), but this is, in fact, serious....

I’m using a Protectli FW6B as my opnsense firewall/router. I’m upgrading my internet service to 1.5 GB fiber and I’m not sure what to do with this device once I do. I could continue using it as my router (I guess put it on the LAN side of the supplied Bell “Gigahub” router/WiFi ap/whatever the fiber equivalent of a...
Heya, been hearing about NixOS for a long time now, mostly from the peeps over at the Linux Unplugged podcast. So was thinking about jumping onto the nix-train, however it seems like it has a learning curve. Does anyone have any good learning resources, blog-posts, guides, whatever beans that you used to get started with NixOS?...
