These are all memes created and disseminated by GOP-affiliates trying to make Taylor Swift look bad in hopes that her influence on young voters (who are generally are more environmental friendly) to go out and vote in the upcoming Presidential elections won’t be as impactful.
It’s quite funny too because someone was tracking and posting her flights on x (Twitter) because it’s public information, which she also didn’t appreciate.
I’m not a fan or a hater, but I guess it’s nice to see she adapted a little. I understand the want or need for a private jet when you need to be al over the planet with a crew. But using it for everything is a bit… Excessive.
I hear good things about them. The core team seems solid as far as engineering experience goes, and as long as they don’t sell out or get acquired they’re a pretty viable replacement.
I’ve only been using it since… well… since I posted this. But so far the experience is great! They have an easy guide for migrating from Google Photos (basically they can import a Takeout export directly).
I’ve got it installed on my phone with automatic backups enabled. It had no issues with duplicates from both Takeout and the existing photos on my phone. (I even did the upload twice due to running out of space the first time, and there were no dupes). The app has a pretty similar design to Google Photos, so it feels familiar. It also supports Google’s version of “live photos”.
You can create links to share albums or individual photos, and you can also add people to your plan.
I enabled the local machine learning analysis and, while it’s not perfect, it does make for a pretty nice searching experience.
P.S. I promise this is not an ad! I’m running out of Google storage and figured this was as good a time as any to de-Google my photos. Ente came up as a frequent cloud solution. If you’re looking for self-hosted, Immich is far and away the most popular.
You could have just estimated your income taxes ahead of time and saved enough to pay it before the due date, but why risk jailtime when there is automatic tax withholding available to you?
It’s worse when you’re operating a business and you have to pay quarterly estimated taxes.
Eh, you generally don’t get jail time for late payment. Tax agencies are more interested in getting the money than putting people in jail and people don’t make money to pay off what they owe when they’re in jail.
You get charged interest for late payment, but it’s at a very reasonable rate. The government can borrow money at better interest rate than is available to most people after all.
The big no-no is lying on your tax forms. That’s something they might put you in jail for. But even then they’re likely to prefer fines over jail time. Because they want that money.
People that go to jail are either Al Capone who the government just wants to get for anything, or people that continuously try to defraud the government on their tax forms. Sometimes it’s people who straight up refuse to pay their taxes, but even then they’ll try to garnish their wages to get the money. But if that mechanism isn’t available, then that can result in jail time.
KFC in Canada is fucking atrocious. Aside from seeking out the worst staff possible, they have the worst quality food of any fast food places I’ve been to. Every 5 or so years I tend to forget just how bad it is, give them another chance, and something about the meal is inedible. Last time got a chicken sandwich and there was a chunk of the bun that was ultra hard and they forgot to put fucking fries in the bag, so I had a meal of a chicken patty of mostly batter and a mostly water diet Pepsi.
I've been in a kfc in Germany and was blown away how people actually eat that shit. But at the same time, people also enjoy McDonald's and burger king, so maybe it's just me
To add on to the list of countries, Singapore KFC is the only fast food franchise where you can occasionally find overcooked blackish terrible tasting chicken. Macs, Popeyes, Arnolds, BK, Jollibee, etc - not even once (yet).
I’ve had the pleasure (?) To eat KFC in the US and in Europe. Besides the fact that it was junk food either way, the European version was just so much better.
I can believe that in its distant origins, KFC was actually tasty, but right now I’d sooner enjoy being punched in the stomach than eating there (a similar statement is true by replacing KFC with McDonald’s or Burger King or several other fast food chains, though for only these three I’ve tried both US and EU versions of these products)
KFC in Australia is pretty good. It’s no Popeyes, but it’s not bad.
I live in the USA now and while most KFCs I’ve been to here are pretty bad, there’s one KFC near me that’s strangely pretty decent. Chicken is always hot and fresh and they never make any mistakes with the order. I just wish they’d bring back the potato wedges since the fries are horrible.
Today I learned that firefox doesn’t like to play certain types of mp4 files. I also learned that you can copy a video link and paste it into VLC media player and it will play!
Watching these books being archived is amazing, I would love to do this!
I also learned that you can copy a video link and paste it into VLC media player and it will play!
You can also use this trick to download YouTube videos without the need of a 3rd party website!
Copy the URL of the YouTube video you wanna download
VLC / Media / Open network stream… And paste your URL
Once the video has opened, Tools / Media Information
Copy the URL in the “Location” field and paste it into your web browser, you should have the option to save the video
It’s a couple of steps but once you memorize what you need to do it’s a million times faster (and I’d wager equally times as private) than finding one of those websites to give you a link.
I tried googling and came up with nothing other than articles suggesting I delete my cookies and update firefox. If you know what dll’s I should check please let me know! :)
Depends on your OS and the alignment of Venus with the moon. For Linux, there’s Archwiki, sacrifice a lamb few bytes for good measure.
It’s usually something with media acceleration not set up yet. I believe i had to install the amdgpu-32bit driver first, before it worked? (oc only if you have amdgpu)
MP4 is just a container, the specific audio/video streams can be one of several different codecs, and if you don’t have the codec used it won’t work. If you can identify the encoding you could probably just download a codec and be good to go.
Edit: for this video the video codec is Codec: MPEG-H Part2/HEVC (H.265) (hvc1) and audio codec is Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
The more I read about this, the more confused I am! Near as I can tell, Mozilla refuses to support H.265 because it is “encumbered by patents”. Is that right?
Yeah, firefox doesnt support H.265 it looks like from some googling. Not exactly sure how other people are getting it to work, but it does look like there’s some extensions for firefox to toss the media streams to VLC instead, that could work for you.
