Yeah, I have no idea what this has to do with tech.

Kinda like the idea. Might give it a go.

Just install a FOSS alternative to their launcher like Heroic

I still pay for premium because it allows me to intercept their high quality 320kbps ogg streams.

Look up soggfy or zotify. Can’t link them here for obvious reasons.

You can use them without premium but the quality of saved files will be lower.

Got back to Death Stranding. I felt like delivering massive amounts of cargo on foot.

I can’t decide between staying with Liftoff or switching back to Infinity :'D

Yeah, cloudflared won’t be able to access your exposed services if your internet suddenly goes down.

If you are worried about availability maybe you should consider moving some stuff to a VPS.

That’s what they want you to think.

Linux for Microsoft Surface devices. It is reality! (cloudblogs.microsoft.com)

I would like to share with you a very cool project that develops drivers for correct operation of Microsoft Surface devices on Linux. I myself use Surface Pro 6 with these drivers and everything works like a charm (battery life is good, cameras work, stylus, keyboard, touchscreen, screen). The developers are gods. From myself, I...

I’ve been daily driving Fedora with surface-linux kernel on SB2 for over a year. It just works (well, maybe except for the camera).

Greetings from a Surface Book 2 running Fedora 38! Everything works nicely (dtx included), battery life is great. Switching from W10 to Linux on this machine was probably one of the best decisions I could make.

I guess it’s worth a try, maybe go for Fedora KDE spin or something lighter? If he has an Nvidia card in it I’d suggest gettin Pop!_os.

Surface-linux page for SB2 says their kernel does support Nvidia variants. Not really sure about the battery life because mine only has an iGPU.

If you use a script manager (Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey, Greasemonkey, Firemonkey) I can recommend some userscripts:

  1. Tabview for Youtube - condenses comments, description, playlists and chat into a neatly organised sidebar,
  2. YT Resource Unholder - improves how YT handles resources and improves performance,
  3. YT CPU Tamer - more performance improvements,
  4. YT AV1 - forces YT to use AV1 for all videos.

Videos encoded with AV1 are smaller and look better on lower bitrates so you save some bandwidth. I noticed it’s also a bit less straining on the CPU which is nice if you wanna save some battery juice if you’re on a laptop without a dGPU.

Oh, I see, thanks for the info!

Blokada likes to eat up battery because all filtering takes place on your device. The more lists you have the worse it gets. AdGuard uses their own servers to block stuff and only does some cosmetic filtering in their app. In my experience it almost didn’t affect the battery at all.

NextDNS (free up to 300k queries/month, doesn’t require any additional apps) or AdGuard (paid but has cosmetic filtering, they have their own app available on their website). Both are fast and don’t require root.

Yep, would totally recommend using one. I started with KeePassXC but switched to BitWarden later coz of simple convenience (sync and all that jazz).
