Integration requires a choice, not a generation. If what you mean to say is that hyperconservative religious zealots are unable to wrap their minds around women’s rights and democracy, then that’s their problem. I have both, and the iOS integration of basic features is insane. Consider examples like… passwords; I’ll get a verification code in a text message or an email and it’ll auto populate and then delete the message. There are so many features like that, which make your phone a seamless part of the “ecosystem.” Android is the opposite. You need an app to do anything and it will require setup and it won’t work every time.

Convenience is what matters. Bootloaders and codecs are not as important as whether my earbuds connect instantly and 100% of the time. A phone should make my life simpler. Etc.

Discord isn’t exactly known for generous file-sharing limits, still, the messaging app offered a 25MB limit to free users. The company has now updated its support page to reflect the upload limit for free users has been lowered to 10MB.

That’s an arbitrary metric. What about internet across oceans, or across forests? Blocking content is a question of why and what. Shouldn’t we be able to block child exploitation websites? That is to say, of course we can, and it’s very easy. The only question is whether you want that kind of censorship to be up to your service provider or your government.

Seriously though, the violence isn’t the problem: it’s the irrationality. Our legal system is based on violence, because there’s no other way. We don’t bat an eye when it makes sense (police arresting a corrupt bureaucrat). The issue is when it doesn’t. I’m actually not even sure this is one of those times!

Anyway, I find it so exhausting in politics when people try to kill each other with laws and bureaucracy. For instance, if the SCOTUS wants religious authoritarianism, wouldn’t it help to just be honest about it so we can fight to the death and excise the insanity? Just a thought.
