@norvegan "We" don't know that the "Captain Paul Watson Foundation" is legit: you do.

I am quite confident that @paragon is legit, whereas I've only read about Paul Watson once (twice, including today). His Wikipedia article doesn't (EDIT: does) say he's been arrested, and how do I even know this website is for him?

The fact that @paragon is "refusing" to provide a load of personal information to a total stranger is not surprising in the least. Neediness doesn't make you a public figure.

@norvegan You do realise that was my point? From my perspective, you're doing the same thing. This idea you've got, that there is One Privileged Epistemic Vantage Point that is coincidentally yours, and if things aren't proven to your satisfaction then they aren't proven at all…

Regarding your second paragraph: talk about "tell me you've never been in that position without telling me". What evidence would even convince you? Do you think that information is safe to share with strangers?

My writing is a blend of typing and dictating—typing at my 8-year-old Mac when I need to be lost in music, zoomy thumbs while drowning in crowded spaces, and dictating to my phone when I am too restless to hold still. Chronic pain and competing needs heavily influence how I choose to write.
