Almost all remote-work news is negative now but was positive in the beginning of the pandemic. Have you noticed this or am I going crazy?

Earlier in the pandemic many news and magazine organizations would proudly write about how working from home always actually can lead to over working and being too “productive”. I am yet to collect some evidence on it but I think we remember a good amount about this....

I think allot of Banks have a ton of assets tied up in commercial real estate. This is the real reason they are pushing everyone to go back to work. A lot of powerful people will loss money if the commercial real estate market crashes.

You don’t have to even disable it, just turn off voice commands. You can still activate it by pushing a button. Personally Ive been using Bing chat over Google assistant for a few months now.

It would be far easier to start a populist movement that reigned in corporations. The problem with revolutions is you never know who’s going to to end up on top at the end. Most likely the new regime will be just as bad as the old. I think what we actually need is more democracy. I like the idea of a democratic referendum that allows the people to force the government into action.

What will Meta gain from fediversing?

I don’t understand what Meta will gain from participating in the fediverse? Their ultimate goal is to make money of Threads and I just don’t see how encouraging an open federation will help them do it? Isn’t threads a Twitter clone? Will it even effect Lemmy? For me personally I don’t use Mastodon, but I might if threads is successful. I use Twitter to follow famous people I like. If famous people move to the fediverse because of threads that will only make sites like Mastodon better in my opinion.

This is my favorite front end for openstreetmaps. The only problem is I live in NJ and most addresses are missing. I usually just get coordinates from Google maps and add them manually.

Gotta post content and engage with the small communities to help them grow I guess. Since I’ve started a few weeks ago I’ve seen new communities spring up everywhere. Hopefully in time whatever you are missing will come to Lemmy.

I’m entitled to leave to another instance. One of the main things to look at when choosing an instance is who they are federated/defederated with. I would never join BeeHaw Lemmy.world, or Sh.itjust.works because of their feud. I’d rather join a third party instance and have access to all the content on all three.

I don’t think so, Lemmy is just going through growing pains. Those instances are already talking about refederating.
