I don’t really understand this kind of post. Anyone can just take any photo off a Google image search without knowing anything about it and just post it here, and that’s it. Am I missing something?

There is discussion on going at !news currently about new rules. Users posting the same story from the same source will be blocked by an automod. I asked about users posting the same story from different sources, and apparently that’s absolutely fine. So expect this problem to get a lot worse before steps have to be taken to make it better :/

New rule suggestion: song posts must include at least genre and year

When people post a link to a song, there is no way to tell what kind of music it is or what period it’s from. To help engagement and the user experience, I suggest we require people to at least write the genre and year in the title of their post. Bonus points for adding some explanation in the body of the post about the...

Regarding Rule 6, this seems to say that the same story with a different source is okay. I don’t think this should be the case. The same story regardless of source should not be reposted unless it adds new information.

“moderating it will be more difficult”. So does that mean it is allowed or not? If you “discourage spamming the same story over and over again”, do you mean from the same person, or from everyone? So if ten different people posted the same story from different sources, is that allowed or not? The rules are not clear, and your further explanation still isn’t clear to me.
