You can get some good deals on Audiophile Headphones (like the senheiser’ 650) on Drop.com. That’s where i got mine, since it’s a colab model they label it as a HD 6XX but it should be the exact same as an HD 650

You could run GPT4All apparently you can put files into it’s folder (there’s a specific one) and it will be able to pull data from it. Maybe this would be a good contender, dont know what size documents it can take though.

Have you looked into doing TTS on your own hardware? I recently managed to get this running (free !!).

It’s pretty good imo, i found that the trick is to generate the voice with Bark and use “RVC Beta Demo” on top after. Coming from image generation RVC feels like a Lora.

Now i barely played with it, but i’m sure you can end up with some crazy level of details and customisation.

yea psu ratings dont rate the quality, they rate how efficient it is at converting AC to DC.

Bronze will use more power to output the same 12v than platinum and that’s it. So if you care about not wasting energy during the conversion then get a higher tier psu otherwise don’t bother factoring in the rating.

Those were generated by an AI. I dont know about the others but Stable diffusion can do that using controlnet.

Now this might not be accurate but most of these images are made by asking it to generate cats (and of course you prompt for everything else: backgrounds and details). Then you would take a picture of the words you want, so like open up a text editor and type what you need+screenshot. The words pic goes into the ControlNet module and i think you set it to use the “Tile” controlnet or i feel like Lineart works too maybe.

Hopefully this is enough to build on and get to what you want

Will an M.2 SSD adapter in bottom PCIE slot on a B550 Aorus Pro AC work? (lemmy.world)

I have an B550 Aorus Pro AC motherboard with a Ryzen 5800X CPU. The first PCIE slot has my RTX 3080 GPU in it and both of the M.2 slots have drives in them. The second M.2 slot disables the second PCIE slot, it is either one or the other. That leaves the last PCIE slot, which according to the manual runs in x2 through the south...

I would go another route and run it through your usb, the manual says you have an USB 3.2 gen 2 which should be able to read up to 10 Gbit/s , more than enough for a pcie gen 4 m.2.

Get yourself an enclosure and plug it in there (make sure it also supports the speeds).

Has anyone had success using xdelta3 for patching gog games

So I’ve got cyberpunk phantom liberty 2.0 but to update to 2.1 heroic game launcher wants me to download the hole game again, gog galaxy through wine is not an option so I’m looking at xdelta3 and innoextract to manually patch game files. But I’m hitting a break wall and seems to fail with every attempt using xdelta3

mmh imo all the main manifacturers cheaps us out in the laptop category (unless you go into the expensive side i guess). There’s always some compromise somewhere :/

But to be fair, i’m not some reviewer and haven’t seen all that the land of laptops has to offer. My advice would be to go looking at different youtube reviews on different channels too.

In my experience:

Microsoft devices while not too good on repairability (hard to open) are often solid and reliable, they tend to be able to keep up with the time. Ex: my surface pro 4 is still used and is surprisingly keeping up. I’d say the same on the surface laptop side. They are more work oriented and less for gaming sadly.

Asus has a nice gaming oriented catalog, but they feel cheap material wise. I’ve got the ROG Flow Z13 tablet and it’s amazing the amount of power they managed to put in there, the casing is all metal so my previous statement doesn’t apply to this one, but the screen is plastic(?) and has some damage already. I’ve use a Strix laptop a few times and that’s where i found the quality lacking.

I used to think HP was a brand to avoid, but with the ones we ship out, they seem to be decent. I have yet to use it.

I had an Acer aspire that had a pentium in it, probably got it around 2008-10. Used to game on it until it overheated itself off, and rinse repeat many times. Great laptop for everyday use, suprisingly still running to this day. I’d recommend for people who dont want to get a chromebook, as some form of step up.

I’ve no experience with other brands.

I dont have the game installed to test it but:

Look into the cs.rin forums for “Goldberg Socialclub Emu”, I think Darck used goldberg’s emu but it might have been updated since.

You can find the forum link in the megathread listed in the sidebar here. In the post there is a zip file with the goldberg gta4 files, you should be able to click and drag them to the same folder as the gta exe.

This is to activate windows, so if your windows is already activated you probably dont need it.

Anyway, essentially you run the script in powershell and select the activation you want, currently option 1 is the new one from this post and should permanently activate windows.

Should be safe afaik, i’ve read that MS employees themselves use this script if their own tools fail. I’ve certainly never had an issue with it, but again they could have installed some spying software and i would be none the wiser. Gotta pray the github wizards audited it for us

Do you guys use realdebrid (and similar services) to download stuff, or to set it up to be able to stream directly without having to download anything?

On the one hand, it’s really fun to be able to stream 60gb 4k content through stremio/plex debrid, but on the other hand, if i choose to end my subscription, I don’t have anything to show for the money I spent till that time.

ads, start menu becoming tied to internet searches ultimately slowing it down, performance decrease win11 vs win10, Bloatware, Xbox locking game folders, the new context menu… these are the ones i can quickly come up with

Update to add: The goddamn shortcuts, can’t just click and drag from desktop to start menu or taskbar, and vice versa anymore
