Anyone know of any job titles that would be perfect for an Autistic adult?

Minimal verbal communication would be ideal. No retail.

Skills; organization, data entry, scheduling, payroll, composing professional emails, social media management, proofreading & editing, creative writing, computer literacy, graphic design & digital illustration, and more.

@AceyAngel @actuallyautistic I didn't have to speak to many people as a secretary in a hospital, but you have to be careful of the department (outpatient only role, elderly care) and job description. I spoke to maybe 4 patients a week, most of the time I was typing and emailing other departments to get reports, messaging consultants etc.

Payroll is a job on its own in a big enough place, as is data entry.

@AceyAngel @actuallyautistic oh and also medical typist/transcriber is a standalone role too! Zero speaking, just listening and typing and emailing lol

Is it just me, or is the amount of “unknown callers” increasing exponentially.

PRO TIP: many phones have a setting called “Silence Unknown Callers” buried under Settings. Turn it to “On.

Anyone in your Contacts list will still get through.

@autism101 @actuallyautistic I have a setting on mine (I assume its common) where I only let certain people ring through, and then another set of people only get through if they ring X amount in X minutes lol

Small talk and conversations can be really hard for autistic people.

@autism101 @actuallyautistic then I haven't heard anything so they get annoyed I wasn't listening or the whole meeting has to be rehashed just for me🤪
