IIRC it depends heavily on which phase of sleep you’re in when you wake up. If you interrupt actual dream / REM phase you’re more likely to remember it.

Correct me if this changed but you can pay for premium in India with a regular card, you just have to provide fake billing address. I’ve been doing this for years now so maybe I’m grandfathered into some old payment scheme but I’m fairly sure my gf did this recently too when she had to switch from Argentina.

Apple revenue in 2023 was ~$380b and their cash reserves were ~$160b. They can take a couple of worst case scenario fines technically, especially given that they’d be challenged in courts for years. Just makes you realize how important that 30% cut is for them.

Delaying the inevitable. The fines that are coming are inevitable too but for Apple it’s just a cost of running their business.

Its not going to be hardware level lock but linked to Apple ID region. For some it will definitely be worth jumping through some hoops but I think 99% will bail at having to arrange payment method that confirms their EU residency.

I’m perfectly aware. Everyone keeps saying that piracy is a convenience issue but people seem to go great lengths to get YouTube for free given how expensive it is to run and how much value it provides.

I had good luck with paying for YouTube Premium. Can use a VPN to get it so dirt cheap I wouldn’t bother with working around it.

If this becomes a high risk then this form of verification will be dropped. If it’s going to be assessed as relatively low risk then online / webcam verification will have risk scoring penalty adjusted. KYC will still exist. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

This is genuinely one of the most useful Analogue Pocket criticisms. Before buying AP you should watch this and either Digital Foundry or My Life In Gaming reviews. I still bought one and don’t regret it but you should know what you’re getting yourself into.

I think it will be okay for smaller manufacturers, right now they have to spend resources on supporting multiple major smart home platforms so Matter will make their lives a bit easier.
