kadu , to android in What Andoid apps are you using for photo editing?
@kadu@lemmy.world avatar

I believe the root cause of my issue is the weird way gallery apps behave on modern Android (A12 and A13). My phone is got Samsung’s gallery as the factory-set system gallery, Google Photos is considered third party, this creates lots of issues and I willing to bet metadata vanishing is one of them.

@kadu@lemmy.world avatar

I love the Google Photos editor… But I can’t use it: it kills metadata for some reason. It resets the date and location, which absolutely ruins the library.

This strategy works so well it’s scary. Though sometimes the open protocol ends up winning… Spotify has been trying to kill podcasts for ages, but they’re not winning even by dumping money into exclusive content.

    I remember his video testing if pineapples can remove your fingerprint.

    They don’t. He did discover the absolutely horrible pain of trying to sleep whilst having exposed tissue in the tips of every finger though.

    That’s a man dedicated to a YouTube channel.

    kadu , to askscience in At what systemic level do we start to see living beings making decisions rather than purely chemical reactions?
    @kadu@lemmy.world avatar

    Abandon the philosopical concept of an independent thinking mind capable of evaluating something by itself.

    “Decisions” and “Thoughts” don’t exist without the environment, as they’re a succession of neuronal activation cascades in response to the current state of all stimulus, the previous connections formed in your brain, and reinforced patterns.

    Leave a human being in an empty void and their thoughts will be built by severely boosting sensitivity and then responding to random sensory noise. Sever all sensory connections and the mind shuts down.

    kadu , to nostupidquestions in What does the term "Troll" or "Trolling" actually mean on social media sites like Reddit and Lemmy?
    @kadu@lemmy.world avatar

    A troll is someone not using the platform in good faith, but instead trying to fish some type of negative reaction or result.

    On a social media platform like Lemmy, a troll could be someone creating fights, baiting people with insults or fabrications, spreading misinformation purposely, adding links to content that might dangerous or illegal, and so on.

    In short, a troll is someone engaging with others with the goal of ruining their experience. In a videogame it could be a team member losing on purpose to annoy others, for example.

    kadu , to maliciouscompliance in Reddit: open /r/pics or else. Mods: OK but you didn't say how
    @kadu@lemmy.world avatar

    /r/apple could’ve only allowed discussions about fruit.

    But instead they decided to return to normal operations - they’re in the group of mods unreasonably afraid of losing their position as mods, which is honestly quite bizarre.

    I understand building a community and wanting to keep at it (I moderated 3 large Brazilian subreddits) but at this point, you just want the title - because you’ve already lost control, trust, and quality.

    @kadu@lemmy.world avatar

    Tap the three line hamburguer menu at the top left corner, you’ll see your username - all the way towards the right, aligned with your username, will be a little arrow. Tap there, and you can login into another instance.
