jacktherippah , to android in Alternate methods to get a screenshot

Aye, OP, check if you can find Goodlock on the Galaxy Store. Go into the “Life up” section on the Goodlock app and download Registrar. It should allow you to set either the back double /triple tap and/or a press and hold of the side button to take a screenshot, as shown here. https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/8e7ba5c8-eb16-45d8-84ca-5c42d1fca9d5.jpeg

jacktherippah , to asklemmy in Do you prefer Reddit or Lemmy?

Honestly, at this point I kinda prefer to go on Reddit. I’m getting tired of all the tech/FOSS talk and there’s so much doom and gloom on here it just bums me out.

jacktherippah , to fediverse in How do you like to tell people about the fediverse?

I don’t tell people about the Fediverse.

jacktherippah , to technology in Mozilla is adding tab grouping, vertical tabs, profile management, and local AI features to Firefox

Well that was 18% of 90% so still awful drain regardless.

https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/2953c8dd-d56d-42c0-b0de-53e8f8dfe618.jpegWell here’s the drain I was talking about at least. 18% in less than an hour and thirty minutes of use for a web browser isn’t normal. In an hour of use a Chromium browser only drains 6-7 ish % for me. This has been an issue for I guess the past month or so? It drove me crazy so I had to uninstall. And it’s not just me either, there are tons of posts from people with the same problem on Reddit. If you don’t have problems, good for you I guess.

I ran Firefox Android with uBo and AdGuardDNS.

jacktherippah , to technology in Mozilla is adding tab grouping, vertical tabs, profile management, and local AI features to Firefox

That’s all fine and good but Firefox on Android is currently in a sorry state. No per-site process isolation, buggy, can’t keep tabs open, slow, choppy, drains battery. Had to uninstall it on my brand new Galaxy S24+ and my Pixel 6 Pro because it was draining so much battery. When are you going to finally stop ignoring Firefox Android, Mozilla?

Haiya literally just finished studying for a statistics final so I went on Lemmy and the first post I see is more statistics =). Haha, anyway, great work!

Oh here’s my monthly reminder that JK Rowling is nutjob.

jacktherippah , to android in Is anyone else having an issue with the nav bar ending up on the side of the acreen in portrait mode?

It was a bug a while back. It went away, now it came back. It’s been here again for what? 1,2 months now? Actually, now that I think about it, it’s been an on and off bug ever since Android gained gesture navigation and the gesture bar LMAO.

jacktherippah , to games in Hades 2 early access launch on Steam reaches over 100k concurrent players 24 hours after launch

I will justify it in four words: It’s a Hades sequel.

jacktherippah , to technology in Bitwarden has launched a new authenticator app

It’s open source. Authy isn’t.
