Started a fresh playthrough on the 21st and man the time they put in shows. Really wish companies like CDPR would go the Larian route of funding big projects like this instead of going public. Shareholders ruined CP2077 launch. It should have been delayed a year or two from its original launch. Instead it was rushed and then after launch they had to fix the rushed product before making/finishing the game they wanted to make. If CP2077 released as it is now or even slightly less polished, it would be considered a top 5 game of all time.

Lessons are there to be learned by other studios. Hopefully they are paying attention. Gamers will wait for a great game.

All that being said, I’m excited to hand over $30 now that I’ve seen the game perform. Stoked to see Elba.

I went cold turkey and the first week felt like a nightmare. I know everyone is different so a multitude of options is very good. Props to you for being a supportive wife. My wife helped me through my addiction immensely and I’ll never be able to repay her for the amount of support she gave me. I’m 2.5 years sober now and feeling great.

I try to find ways to sho my thanks to her everyday and our marriage is significantly better because of me overcoming my urge to drink.

(Used to be 8-12 beers on work nights, drink until blackout on weekends)

I’m surprised share holders of a lot of big companies aren’t demanding WFH. Office space is one of the larger chunks of overhead for a company (not just the space but utilities, supplies, maintenance/cleaning).

My guess is as leases are coming to an end that companies will definitely think twice before signing when WFH is an option.

My current job has us in the office a few days every 6-8 weeks and if it went to anymore than that the majority of the team I’m on would quit. It’s pretty easy to find work right now with unemployment below 4%

If a simpler/streamlined on boarding for Lemmy and the like gets going then yes. The average computer user enjoyed reddit for just that, simplicity. The average computer user has zero idea about Federation, instances, hosting, etc. and will have little to no desire to learn. The benefits have to outweigh the cons by a significant margin to get people on board yet another social media platform. Meta and Twitter are definitely shooting themselves in the foot and the possibilities for a federated platform are beyond what we can currently imagine. Lemmy and the like are in their infancy so we will see how the growing pains are handled.
