  • Strong people skills
  • Good culture fit
  • Multitasking
  • A fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree or better

I see these things and think you don't want my >30 years of programming and machine learning experience, or my problem-solving skills and comprehensive knowledge that had people mistaking me for one of the team's PhDs, or my solutions that have proven patent-worthy. Your loss.

, anyone? Perfect example from publishing. A publisher is using AI to write crappy nonfiction, then assigning author names that almost match leading experts in that field (to trick search engines). No doubt other AIs will now search those texts as authoritative. This is done solely to make money and only makes the world a worse place.

The artificial colors correspond to Germanic colors, but the natural colors divide the color spectrum differently. Lightness/Saturation is paying a role here too. "glas" can mean blue, green or grey, gorm is blue or green etc.

@BBC_News_Labs One problem everybody is certainly struggling with is how to deal with the flood of information.

I think the big social media sites play a detrimental role in news writing & dissemination, because they force you to post frequently and with attention-grabbing headlines (preferably ones that make people angry) in order to feed "the algorithm".

I think Mastodon and the Fediverse can be a chance for change here too, because you can post as seldomly as you like and still be seen.

Hashtags were fundamental to how I used Twitter. They helped not only with discoverability but also classification, organization, and community building. offers none of this. tries to make up for the lack of tags with feeds, but these don't help with topics that emerge on the fly. Only Mastodon offers , but for them to work, more people need to enable the option now has to make one's posts visible to search from across the fediverse. @histodons

@hno @markstoneman @histodons Actually, you don't need to allow fulltext search on your profile to allow hashtag search on your profile. Hashtag search has always been separate and hashtags have been used on Mastodon to make public posts searchable for everybody.

Exactly. The difference here is that allowing full-text search on your profile is opt-in, to help protect marginalized people from some harassment.

If you have opted in like I have, you can still exclude individual posts from search by making them unlisted. They will still be visible to everybody and appear in your followers' timelines, but won't appear in search results or on public timelines.

I asked people which one was their favourite vowel phoneme (from the list of 5 basic vowel phonemes). The ranking was: a > e > i > o > u. Do with that information what you want 💁‍♂️

In the local of the , we can easily express which order in the siblings we are, but it has always been a challenge to express this in English.

Examples (Filipino - English):

“Ako ay ikatlo sa mga magkakapatid.”

EN: “I am third of the siblings” vs “I am third of four siblings.”

The problem with the latter translation is “of four” was not stated in the . The first option is the closest but it sounds weird.

How about this: “Ako ay pangalawa sa mga babae at pang-apat sa mga magkakapatid.”

Literal translation: “I am second of the female siblings and fourth of siblings.”

Maybe a better one is: “I am second female and fourth among us siblings.”

On I want to talk about the ancestor of the bra: the strophion!

In the goddess can sometimes be seen putting it on or taking it off but mortal women are depicted wearing it too.

It is uncertain what the Greek strophion looked like but the Roman adaptation, the strophium, was a breast band, a strip of cloth wrapped around the upper torso.

It was a normal but optional piece of feminine clothing.
