Someone sent this to me a while back & I’ve only just got around to looking at it. (ADHD) Rang a lot of bells, & is no doubt another factor is late diagnosis.

@Susan60 @actuallyautistic Jesus if this were a checklist I'd be at 98%.

Can anyone recommend a true crime podcast where they actually solve the crime? @actuallyautistic teen is finding it very frustrating. Enjoys true crime - loves the investigative side - but thinks what’s the point if it doesn’t go anywhere. She’d like to listen to one where it comes to a conclusion on who the guilty party is

@clarkiestar @actuallyautistic Forensic Files comes in a podcast version.

ALL YOU NEED IS DEATH is a folk horror movie of Atmosphere. If you expect everything presented/explained neatly, you may be frustrated- but there IS a logic here, of murder ballads & fairy tales. If you want a well crafted, creepy, unique film about the enigma & power of songs, you'll dig its vibe.

@stina_marie @horror COMPLETE TANGENT:

This thumbnail reminds me of a painting one of my sister's friends did of three horrifying faces on a dark background. it was hung on a pillar at the end of the basement stairs. I was probably 5 or 6, and my cousins and I spent hours sneaking down the stairs, screaming, and running back up. Good times.

@stina_marie @horror I wish I knew what happened to them. I should ask my sis. We shared a bed at the time (my poor sister!) and she had another one hanging over it. Definitely the work of a disturbed teenager. Hated them then, love them now.

@stina_marie @horror Heard from sis, so I just had to report back. There were two paintings by Marla the depressed teenager. One of three faces of three different ages, and one of a kneeling girl with her hair hanging down. Just imagine them as dark and creepy as possible.

Sis says "something attached itself" to the three faces (she believes many things) and she burned it. The other one just stayed in the Longview house when we moved.

I wonder if it survived to be someone else's nightmare.

@stina_marie @horror Forgot a couple details: my brother used to zone out in front of the faces painting. Sis called it "going into a trance," but the dude did all the drugs. He wasn't happy when she took it.

This whole thing needs to be a horror movie.

Yep ⬇️ 🤘🏼

"...And as for the “all time classic dialogue” that was “butchered” and “misappropriated” by López, Pizzolatto’s admirers seem to have forgotten that much of Rust Cohle’s dialogue in season 1 was borrowed from author "

(borrowed is a nice way to put it)

And if you're curious about the writing, here's an article that breaks it down:

Day 20 of where you share old art during the month of October

🎨 Pencil drawings, by me

Made these drawings of two Brides of Dracula and then subtly colored them in certain parts and lit them up with some tea lights. Vampire fun! 🦇🩸🦇

@horror

Two pencil drawings of vampire brides in wooden coffins, with lights placed behind the drawings to light them up.

I don't like the pop culture practice of binging a Thing all at once and plan on watching one episode of Flanagan's THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER a night... I'm hoping fervently that I'm not going to be spoiled about the show until I manage to watch it all 🤞

Are you going to binge, or is anyone weird like me 😁?

@horror

@stina_marie @horror One a night, definitely. Used to binge and it ends up being unsatisfying.

I usually only watch movies on the weekends and today we needed a new show so we started and it is QUITE delightful. I laughed aloud many times. It's a fresh and funny take on all those murder investigation/mystery shows that are so popular.

@MevsMatze @stina_marie @horror Ouija: Origin of Evil is a movie with one of those "moments" that's so scary and great I think about it often. Like Toni Collette lurking near the ceiling (but before she swims out, because that was ridiculous).
