While it’s still very upsetting to her I’m sure, this has not made her homeless. That’s the difference.

die444die ,

It says she returned from vacation to find home demolished, but then in the article specifies this is a “family home” that has been boarded up. That is very different than coming home to find your own home demolished. It still sucks but this is a clickbait headline and is right to be called out for it.

die444die ,

How dare we discuss an article here, on a site dedicated to discussing articles?!

How bout you stop telling people what you think they’re allowed to comment on.

die444die ,

I’m not sure which streaming services you mean but cable back when I had it YEARS ago was over $120 a month. That was just the tv part, not including internet.

I can’t think of 3 streaming services that come near that price.

die444die ,

I believe she lost her scholarship due to this and I’ve seen no claims yet that it was restored. Her mom was saying he waited until after the deadline to restore the scholarship recommendation.

die444die ,

Settle down, they’re right.

As a motorcycle rider I am very aware that every time I get out on the road I am putting myself in a much more vulnerable position where a simple accident could cause much more damage or death than most other forms of personal transportation. Basically, I’m riding outside at car speed, with just my clothes to protect me.

It would suck, but unless there is strong evidence that this driver intentionally mowed him down or something, the motorcycle rider does shoulder a lot of the blame by getting on the motorcycle in the first place.

die444die ,

I’m not saying it’s equivalent to that at all, but it’s a huge known risk. Riding a motorcycle is dangerous, and it’s our prerogative to do so, but with that risk, we also have to take our safety into our own hands.

I know when riding that I must recognize cross traffic WELL ahead of time and be prepared for them to pull out in front of me because they may not see me.

We must ride like we are invisible, because the reality is that in many cases, we are.

It took me 16 years to figure out why I hate a Journey song. What song did you hated until you figured out why?

I love Journey. But for some reason I hated, “Don’t Stop Believin” and I could not understand why I loathed that song until I recently rewatched The Sopranos for the second time after 16 years and the final episode had that song playing until the “blackout.” And now I know why…...

die444die ,

The story behind what inspired that song is pretty interesting though….

Kansas will no longer change trans people's birth certificates to reflect their gender identities (apnews.com)

Kansas will no longer change transgender people’s birth certificates to reflect their gender identities, the state health department said Friday, citing a new law that prevents the state from legally recognizing those identities....

This is such an overblown complaint. I’d wager a bet that a VAST majority of users never do any data transfer from their cell phones at all anyway, but if you are someone that needs faster transfer, the pro supports it.

die444die ,

That’s not their flagship phone. The Pro is. And the pro supports usb3. For the vast majority of users that don’t give a shit about data transfer speed via a cable, this just doesn’t matter at all.

die444die ,

Why should apple spend the time to develop features that their users aren’t asking for and don’t seem to care about? Again, this is just overblown outrage over something the vast majority of users literally don’t know or care about. If you do care about it, then you’ll probably know which phone you want anyway.

die444die ,

It’s not built into the A16 chip that is in the iPhone, but it’s been added to the A17 that’s in the pro. You think there’s space in these devices to just add an extra chip? Get real.

die444die ,

The pro has a new processor that they’ve added usb3 to. The base uses the last generation processor which did not have that.

You’re making a lot of assumptions about their intentions and claiming that people are defending bad behavior, but it really just looks like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

die444die ,

It’s more that I don’t presume to know the full reason behind every decision they make.

The A16 processor that’s just made its way to the iPhone didn’t have usb3 on chip, the new A17 on the iPhone pro does. My assumption is that next year when iPhone presumably moves to the A17 that it will then have usb3 speeds.

Not everything has to be some nefarious plot, damn.

die444die ,

You mean back in ios3 in 2009? I wonder what phones you think everyone else had back then.

die444die ,

Yeah, the $2 for X deal is a gimmic to increase sales. It’s the company saying “I am willing to sell these cheaper if it gives me an extra sale.” But by applying that sale price to customers it didn’t apply to, essentially you just stole a dollar from your employer every time you sold an energy drink.

I’m personally pretty forgiving of something this petty when done by someone making an unlivable wage, but it’s still theft.

die444die ,

It’s still theft, even if you dislike the victim.

In Louisiana we have the rougarou that’ll come and get ya if you don’t act right.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rougarou

He’s similar to a werewolf, but French.

die444die ,

It is completely opposite to that in my circles. It would be weird to call people without texting them first. In fact, one of my best friends texted me to ask if he could call me.

Is someone really tired of the therapy speak on reddit?

I havent been on Reddit in a while. I reduced drastically the amount of Reddit related content I watch, and gotta say, they helped me a lot a while back to recognize unacceptable behavior, and showing it to my bf was important in his development to recognize how abusive his mom was and taking steps to go leave her and go NC....

die444die ,

Yeah, the problem I saw with most of it was that it seemed like it was mostly people just repeating catchphrases without the proper nuance to address actual issues. Kinda like an expanded “hit the gym, delete Facebook, call a lawyer” kind of advice.

Not for me. I went to block them and it was still DadeMurphy

die444die ,

Unless that’s exactly what they wanted. Keep in mind that people have used twitter to mobilize against oppression all over the world. The people in power could definitely be seen to benefit from its destruction. But it won’t matter, people will find other platforms to mobilize on if twitter doesn’t work for them.

die444die ,

Well this is an easy block. Fuck off racist.

It’s not his job to fix the idiots in this state.

That’s a great shirt. I miss shirts like this. I love white and gold together.

I’m in Louisiana and just missed one on mine. 😩

What happened to you that makes you want to be intentionally insulting to strangers on the internet, unprovoked?

Why are you so angry?
