you don’t have to report anything, thats also why they do random audits.

article title: windows DEAD LAST!

also in the same article: “… When it comes to FPS, the overall leader in testing was Nobara Linux, with Arch Linux and Pop!_OS trailing by 1–5%. Windows 11, however, was only 6% behind Nobara Linux. So, **there isn’t a massive performance delta here, **”

adrian783 ,

is the point of article not to stroke the ego of the Linux absolutists that have some weird chip on their shoulders when it comes to video games?

adrian783 ,

the argument is that the people, and the political system the people put in place enabled the company to create and benefit off its creations.

“we live in a society” but unironically.

adrian783 ,

Disney would find a way to dig up walt and reanimate him.

adrian783 ,

I want to limit the amount of benefit they can reap.

adrian783 ,

uh in any actual company you almost never push to origin master. so I think it’s a joke.

adrian783 ,

it means you commit too infrequently. your commit messages should be able to describe what u just did within 10 words.

adrian783 ,

you can setup a on-save script to force you to commit when the number of changes is greater than a certain number from the previous commit.

adrian783 ,

does that invalidate the point?

A $500 subsidy on electric bicycles would not get Americans out of their cars and onto a bicycle, but it might make cyclists move to electric bikes, which wouldn’t be a behavioral change that would impact anything relevant to this study.

why would you think that? I think you’re wrong and price is a big factor. cyclists are unlikely to move to ebike because they can already make it work on a regular bike.

adrian783 ,

I did look it up and there is only 1 case from 2000 that set the high bar at 125. it’s not really representative of the whole.

adrian783 ,

it’s top 5%…

adrian783 ,

you can do it like you weight 6v6 then 3v3 then for the last weighing you weight the 2 out of 3.

or you weigh 4v4 to find out which grouping of 4 the light weight person is in, then do 2v2 and 1v1.

adrian783 ,

so you don’t like people using the word “great” to mean “very capable”? and that’s a “mind-plague”?

and we’re suppose to go with your definition because why?

adrian783 ,

dude was living in a garage playing video games and presumably under or unemployed. I wish we would just pay to let these people live an ok if unremarkable life already.

adrian783 ,

in a pretty limited, cultural archival and dissemination point of view, mayyyyyyyyybe.

the vast majority just want free entertainment.

adrian783 ,

it divorces the act of spending from actual money, so you spend more. like buying gems in a mobile game. also saves on credit card transaction fees.

adrian783 ,

children are incredibly easy to influence. “if you don’t do it I will find where you live and harm your family, and do not call the cops/tell your parents” is often enough threat.

adrian783 ,

don’t forget the role masayoshi had in pissing money away in 30 minutes. charisma and Kool-aid runs (ran?) SV.

adrian783 ,

ram is meant to be used so high ram usage is not really any indicator of efficiency. if ram is slow and application is being swapped in and out frequently then it will be laggy but high ram usage can also be an indicator of a snappier experience.

adrian783 ,

it’s a small Alabama town, might wanna rethink those odds

adrian783 ,

adrian783 ,

hear hear, if it has problem then I take it to apple store for service. I don’t wanna waste time fucking about on my laptop. I’ll do trouble shooting on desktop but I just want long battery life and apple silicone beat the fuck out of anything else.

adrian783 ,

too short, for all that effort just use a sentence with a symbol and a number.

FacebookCanGoToHell!123 is more secure and easy to remember

adrian783 ,

yes, it is what I do now. there was a time when people memorized 10, 15 phone numbers.

adrian783 ,

free credit report is not the officially sanctioned source of credit reports. the actual one is annualcreditreports.com

adrian783 ,

the most simple explanation is that total bandwidth is limited and more upload speed they give you the less download speed.

the unfortunate reality is that many stores cannot even afford to unionize. the existence of Walmart had already destroy the local markets and no strings attached terms offered from the local government would crater the economy of Walmart just take the ball and go home.

Walmart preys on these towns and offers them deals they cannot refuse, because they can always open one up next town instead.

ever wondered why the techy bay area has only 1 Walmart while there are at least 5 across the bay? it’s because the bay area is rich enough to not agree to Walmarts bullshit terms.

when the end result of unionization is plunging the entire town into economic hardship I wouldn’t do it either.

adrian783 ,

oh I thought prime universe means alternate universe as the math apostrophe symbol is pronounced prime and often denotes (mathematical) derivative

Twitter is losing daily active users. CEO Linda Yaccarino confirmed it. (mashable.com)

By now, you may have heard about Elon Musk’s handpicked CEO for X, Linda Yaccarino, and her disastrous interview with CNBC’s Julia Boorstin at Vox Media’s Code 2023 event. grid and responsiveness are not antithetical. I mean the concept of grid had been around for like a decade, see bootstrap.
