Disney made a movie called Crater that was removed from their catalog after just two weeks. It is only available via piracy.

I haven't watched it because that would be illegal, but it's almost like they want us to pirate. Heck, I would never have heard about Final Space if the animator hadn't raised a stink after it got removed from the WB catalog.

I'm sure these employers hire external contractors. Do they insist on observing and monitoring those contractors? Are they going to insist their contracotr's employees be active on Teams at all times?

I hate the idea that if working from home for an employer is somehow different from working as a freelancer from home.

How did they monitor people in the office? If they weren't able to point to SMART metrics that show work getting done, wherever that work gets done, they're bad managers. "Asses in chairs" is not a SMART metric. "Active on Teams" is also not a SMART metric.

They'll need to make money with a cheap cost-per-sale, so they'll put ads on the site. Then they'll put promoted content in the AI chat, but it's okay because they'll say it's promoted. Eventually it won't even say it's promoted and it will just be all ads, just like every other tech company.

Why? Because monetization leads directly to enshittification, because the users stop being the customers.

To make more profit, they need to pay their workers less than the value of the goods or services produced.

Therefore, the stock price is a measure of how well a company can exploit its workers.
