I use a filter on Mastodon so I can limit how much Elon Musk headlines I see. People love to talk about him, I mean here we are…but at least with the filter I can tune out the noise most of the time. It’s blissful. A shame there’s no filters (that I know of) on Lemmy to hide asshats like this. I already know Musk is a POS, I don’t need to see a dozen articles every single day to remind me…

Pros: vertical tabs, web apps, side panel, workspaces, many customizations. to be clear tho, Firefox has already stated they will be incorporating most of these features by version 130 or sooner.

Cons: no mobile app, video playback with DRM may be an issue on some sites, uncertain future, essentially it’s maintained by one dev so if they ever go the future is uncertain.

tl;dr, Floorp is kind of like Vivaldi with customizing and privacy in mind, but based on Firefox’s gecko engine

Ngl, I’m tearing up to this. 18 is a long time for a dog, some breeds don’t typically live passed a handful of years. I’ve got a lil pup of my own and this just reminds me to be grateful for having him while I still do. Gonna give him some extra happy pets today while I try not to tear up. God I love dogs.

Just watched the video. Maybe it’s just me, but if you’re the driver in a Tesla, and it’s foggy as fuck outside, maybe, just maybe, don’t use the self driving aspect when visibility is that bad. The amount of people willing to trust Tesla with their lives (and others on the road…) is too damn high!

For anyone that doesn’t know, Forgotten Weapons YouTube channel is one of the best channels relating to guns. But it’s a historical, educational persepective on guns, mostly guns from WW1,WWII, and anything up until the 1980s, though he does deal with some rare and some modern guns from time to time. Overall it’s a fantastic channel, the main guy Ian breaks down a guns history, mechanics, how it handled in production or war time, he really does his research, so it’s not your typical “I like muh guns big and loud” type of channel, it’s legit informative and educational, 100% check him out if you have the slightest interest in guns and gun history.

For context, I have deleted my Twitter account. But when I did use it, it was exclusively to follow bands/musicians, so I never encountered anything other than musicians and their fans. It was for the most part a nice experience, minus the band mate/fan made drama, but I never followed or cared for that aspect anyways. I never encountered the racist, homophobic, or nazi-like shit most news articles talk about because my bubble was strictly defined to music. I just followed to be informed on the latest band’s album news or tour updates and things like that.

But since I’m not a hermit, and I’m AWARE of what Twitter has become, I’ve left it behind because I don’t want to support a single cent of ad revenue to the asshat in charge. I can still get most of my music related news from Discord (which has its own host of problems, but I digress), so I stopped using Twitter and refuse to click any of it’s links. And even if I have to click a Twitter link from a journalist or something, I have Nitter Redirect addon for Firefox installed, so at least there’s that option as a last resort. Other than that Twitter is fucking dead to me.

I appreciate that. While it does suck, there was life before Twitter, so I’ve reverted back to that. The only alternative is to follow artists on Facebook or Insta, but honestly fuck those apps just as much. I do pay/use Apple Music so I do still get notified when any of my following artist release a new album/EP, so in the grand scheme of things, there’s not too much of a change I suppose. What is lost though, is the community aspect of sharing show photos or tour experiences or connecting with other like-minded fans. But I’d rather lose all of that than continue to support Twitter, so even tho it’s a loss, just out of spite for brain-dead billionaires it kind of feels like a win too.

Sounds like your on the mend and on the road to recovering. Just make sure to do all the follow up appointments and everything and remember no one is going to advocate for your health more than you, so take care of yourself first and foremost and I know it doesn’t help much, but things take time to diagnose and to heal so be patient with your body, things can always get better. At least your not pissing, shitting, and vomiting at all once! ;)

Sometimes you just have to keep at it things, keep waiting, keep appointments, yet it can all become tiresome or exhausting. The point is to rule things out and that sadly just takes time. If things persist, a different doctor or a specialist should be able to track things down. It’s all a cat and mouse game sometimes when the diagnosis is not easily identified. Took one of my friends almost a year before they found what was wrong with them. Just be patient, keep at it, and I’m sure things will eventually get better. Good luck!

I’m sorry I forget the source, but I once read something from a scientist that in your entire life, if you reuse/recycle/protect the environment,etc for your own single entire life, you will have starved off climate change for 1 whole second. Mind boggling to know your entire existence comes down to that litter of a difference. The point of what I remember reading was not that individuals are the problem, but that corporations and big industries were the worst offenders doing little to help change.
