the only real nitche communities I gave up on was the TalesFromX reddits, they never made it over so I dropped them, everything else made it for me thankfully.

I went from being on reddit daily to not opening it for almost 2 or 3 weeks now. I haven’t had an issue content wise, sure there is some decent informational on the site but, I find a lot of information on it to be outdated anyway

I had them most sophisticated hotel/resort wifi capture page I’ve ever seen them other week. It had you register on the wifi using your room number and booking email, then it gave you 10 slots that you put Mac addresses into. I couldn’t imagine how many people I bet never figured out how to use it lol

yea, in fact most toll booths are camera operated up north here now, they click a picture of the plate then mail you the toll bill + added expenses for the mail in system. Annoying af but it’s either that or get EZ pass(or not use the turnpike).

it flashes multiple times on the way through so I’m sure it grabs a front picture as well

it went subscription based starting with ST4, ST3 and lower had a lifetime sub to that major version

this is correct, you get access to every update in that window, instead of everything in that major release. It is better than it could be but, it’s rediculous to purchase a software that doesn’t even give you the full release of it. It also doesn’t alert you before upgrading/updating to a release outside your license window and relies on you figuring out how to downgrade after if you let it auto update.

I can’t remember the last time I had mandatory college HW, it was class work then “if you wanna do this to help you can then we can go over next class” work, it wasn’t graded and only suited yourself to learn

Sublime Text 4 going subscription based instead of major release based. I downgraded back to ST3 and am keeping my lifetime license on that one. The alternative is a 3 year usage license which is trash for the price you need to pay

I’m going to be the same way most likely, I’ve had it ever since I got my S9 at launch because Samsung ran a promotional where they gave you 6 months of YouTube premium for free, and I got spoiled by it.

But I got a notice last month saying that it’s going up to $14 a month instead of the 12 I was at, on top of the fact that getting YouTube premium doesn’t always guarantee the ads go away and I found my experience with YouTube premium has caused some features such as watch history and recommendations to start being weird. Like it won’t add videos that are in my queue to my watch History so if I queue up a bunch of videos before I go to bed and then I decide to stop the video halfway through I have to find my location again and the video because it doesn’t log its history

This is compounded by the fact that it’s search algorithm sucks now, I will very frequently not get alerts from channels that I am subscribed to and I only see three or four different channels that show up in my suggested feed, despite the fact that I have over 150 different channels subscribed. These issues have started pushing me further and further onto Twitch so I think I’m going to cancel my subscription and just get twitch Turbo (which is cheaper!)

I honestly think the US is at that point. I need a phone to clock in, you can’t find price checkers anymore, physically paying bills just doesn’t happen anymore, checks are becoming obsolete. Stores are downsizing in favor of online markets, banks are closing lobbies in favor of digital. We love in a digital world and while it’s technically possible without it still, very difficult to do so.
