Hey.

I’m Dan. A 36 year old father of two who doesn’t have nearly as much time as he needs to do half the things he wishes he had the time to do.

… What was it advertising?

@Oneeightnine@feddit.uk avatar

I’m probably going to play Lords when it’s cheaper. I’ve just finished Lies of P and I’m working my way through Dark Souls Remastered, and with Spider-Man and that new Mario game, I’m officially maxed out with regards to game time.

I tried to get into Mortal Shell twice now and both times I’ve ran away screaming. I hear great things about it, but I find the character feel so cumbersome from the outset that I just give up after an hour or two.

I’ve seen Elden Ring on PC for as low as £30 over the last few weeks if that takes your fancy. I’m also fairly sure it’s on sale on PSN and Xbox ATM (at least in the UK).

Wo-Long maybe? It’s from the folks that made Nioh and is on Gamepass.

Oxenfree messed me up when I played it a few years ago. It’s got this super eerie vibe to it that really ratchets up the tension and sense of dread.

A game I played recently might do the job too, it’s called Signalis. It plays a bit like a 2D Resident Evil game, but with a slightly more interesting story.

Oneeightnine , to ukcasual in How many of you still make a Christmas list?
@Oneeightnine@feddit.uk avatar

My mum still likes to buy her adult kids something, although usually we direct her to an Amazon wishlist we use as a sort of ‘I want this, I’ll buy it eventually…maybe’ list.

She’s going to spend the money, she enjoys doing it and as much as I don’t ask for it, it doesn’t hurt to have something to open on the day, especially as all of our money goes on the two kids.

Oneeightnine OP , to casualuk in Anyone remember this?
@Oneeightnine@feddit.uk avatar

It was on in the 90’s. Two boys find an old Roman flying machine. At some point they become friends with their elderly neighbour who herself sees the ghost (or has an imaginary friend that is a ) of a Native American chief.

I don’t remember much more about it other than that. Oh and the fact that it had a baller theme-tune that totally hit the spot after a hard day in year 2.

Oneeightnine OP , to nostupidquestions in The Planet, some string and a bell.
@Oneeightnine@feddit.uk avatar

Yeah I should have emphasized that the string is perfectly taught, has no slack, isn’t affected by things like the wind and can’t break.

It’s a long one but these guys make fantastic videos and it really sets the scene well for what transpired.

Not the same sport but the 1999 Stanley Cup (NHL) was won by an Overtime goal that was absolutely against the rules. The refs knew it, the league knew it, the teams knew it…but because of the nature of the goal it was kind of impossible to call it back because the entire arena had splurged itself and they’d already started celebrating.

Not as ridiculous as a 99 that costs £1.98

Oneeightnine OP , to ukcasual in £45 for a pair of trainers for an 18 month old from Clarks.
@Oneeightnine@feddit.uk avatar

A neighbour recommended them just after I told her how much money I’d spent at Clarks. I’ll definitely be giving them a look.

I’ve still got a lot of time for the film from '05. Great casting and some genuinely stand out moments.
