Sure, we never had the latest and greatest, fixed stuff ourselves and such, but we lived in a home that my parents owned and never really wanted for anything. That, to me, feels like a middle-class upbringing, and is what I’d like to be able to provide my own kids when I have them. However, right now the prospect of owning my own home seems increasingly far-fetched.

Frankly I dislike this comment. We all agree that Putin and the kleptochratic Russian regime needs to go away, but can we please not cheer on hundreds of thousands of young men going to be killed?

Not only are they human beings too (and given Russian conscription methods quite literally stuck between a rock and a hard place), but also mean Ukranian soldiers being further traumatised, both physically and mentally.

From an environmentalist perspective, this is fantastic, as virtually all of this renewable generation represents offset coal and gas peaker plant generation.

Aren’t prices swinging rapidly between negatives and high peaks a sign of volatility, where specifically fossil gas peaker plants flourish? (Since we have a notable absence of proper grid-level storage)

*Hate to be nitpicky, but a lot of assumptions go into a “$/kW” LCOE. Your effective costs for the solar + battery are going to be very different in different parts of the world depending on factors such as seasons, land value & labour.

Also not a lot of nuclear is being built atm anywhere unfortunately.

You can still make a bug report, so that somebody with the actual means can look into it. If every action is duplicated that’d be pretty severe, if not, well it’ll be closed.

No. There’s a spectrum of both communism and anarchism, their intersection tends to be known as anarcho-communism. An example of non-anarchist communism is vanguardist communism, which is inherently authoritarian (and anti-anarchist).

I suspect that the real “extra cost” comes from having the slight amount of extra space it takes to stock the non-milk, ship it, handle it and the extra time it takes the employee at the counter to make a different drink.

Not saying they can’t just “eat the costs”, but companies never do that. Everything is accounted for and has the 10%+taxes profit margin slapped on top.

If the usage of non-milk would increase, I bet prices would come down in coffee shops as well.

So in essence, they aren’t be allowed to charge extra if the customer is intolerant? Isn’t there basic milk w/o lactose for that though? Or just serve it without milk?
