Yeah, getting rid of malaria in large parts of the world was one of the great successes of the 1900’s, and a large reason for that was the drainage of wetlands. Part of the reason I personally cannot at all sympathize with folks who want to restore the wetlands. Particularly with the world heating up, it’s likely to result in a surge of mosquito-borne disease.

Naw, the issue is more with corruption creeping into the public system. Swedish society used to have a high degree of trust within the system due to a rather homogenous culture and relatively short social hierarchy, and as such structures of enforcement were rather unneccessary.

It’s become a lot more pressured as time goes on though, inefficiencies, abuse of public funds, straight up corruption which has created huge hole in the public purse - in addition to a sharp rise in organized crime and tax evasion among small businesses such as restaurants and shops.

Yep, I’ve a mobile 3070 in my laptop, and whilst I feasibly could run some of the smallest models around, paying on a per-use basis gets me way better quality results for relatively cheaply.

Besides, running it locally isn’t free either. Your hardware deprecates and depreciates over time, in addition to non-negligible power costs.
