People who talk about politics and religion at work tend to get hated at best and fired at worst.

People who talk about politics and religion on social media risk getting lectures from relatives and losing friends.

So yeah, people do not talk about politics and religion in America a lot of the time.

Honestly, the only reason my mother-in-law and I have maintained a really good relationship over the decades is because we just don’t talk about religion or politics. My wife and I are pretty much on the opposite side of the map from her on both. So we just don’t talk about it rather than become enemies. Maybe that’s not the right way to go about things, but it’s saved a lot of stress where we don’t need it.

I understand what you’re saying, and if the populace was rational, I’d agree. But they’re not. They see two bad choices and I really don’t think that can solely be blamed on the media. Part of it is just that they’re both really old.

We passed by his store that is apparently still in existence on a trip to Indianapolis recently, so I got to tell my daughter about the commercials that Don used to make for Don’s Guns back in the 80s and 90s and how they were pretty much universally mocked for being so creepy with the bizarre tagline and laugh.

Kansas was also the state where they put abortion up for a referendum expecting people to vote to make it illegal and they did the opposite by a large margin.

Conservatives are less anti-abortion than their leadership would have you think. Especially the “no exceptions for anything no matter what” abortion bans that are happening.

Believe it or not, my dad had a friend in that situation. They were married, got divorced, stayed monogamous with each other. They just didn’t live together. I guess they didn’t want sex with anyone else but they also didn’t want to live with each other.

As I suggested at the beginning, what you are looking for is not a discussion, it’s a person to berate. All you do is keep proving it.

However, I will indulge you:

I could point you to multiple different posts I have made where I have shown that it is clear that multiple ethnicities of people in different parts of the world are Muslims and they practice Islam in different ways.

Those posts were in response to two misogynists claiming that Muslim women who did not wear headscarves were either sinners or not Muslims.

One of them also said Iranians are Arabs.

And yet rather than attack them for their misogyny and one of them for saying something that really is racist, you attack me for daring to suggest that maybe an Iranian woman is a Muslim because we don’t know what she claims her religion is right now.

Just amazing.

I’d stick around and wait for your criticisms of their posts, but you’ve latched on to hating me and once you’re on that hate teat, I know how hard it is to let go.
