Man I ordered a pack of curry ramen from these guys cause I was craving curry and needed to hit a cart minimum for a discount and was like sure why not. The not reasoning was the fire from both ends. It took my stomach a couple days to recover because I just scarfed it down despite the pain

There’s a fun Behind the Bastards episode on this to a degree, the main subject was Edward Bernays but it covers the banana Republic stuff and then Swindled has episode 50 The Octopus that which is more directly focused on Chiquita and their bullshit.

You sound like me talking about Eternal, just wasn’t the Doom for me.

Party based survival RPG with a layer of distrust similar to John Carpenter’s The Thing and a few of the failed premises for morale and what not from the game based off the movie. Would probably need some sort of randomizer or rogue like element to keep the tension of who to trust high.

Y’know what, given some of the things I’ve beat meat to in the past I’d be down with the Emperor getting a royal rack.

It looks like a cross between a sidekick and that weird keyboard attachment that went on 360 controllers. Who is this for?

Where do you think the “Uh oh” part of the old slogan came from?

Amazon Ditches 'Just Walk Out' Checkouts at Its Grocery Stores (gizmodo.com)

Amazon is phasing out its checkout-less grocery stores with “Just Walk Out” technology, first reported by The Information Tuesday. The company’s senior vice president of grocery stores says they’re moving away from Just Walk Out, which relied on cameras and sensors to track what people were leaving the store with.

Yea that’s completely wrong, that’s just called building a case and collecting evidence.

What good does that do if you can’t make ends meet to reach retirement?

I’d rather they didn’t and just went away instead.

Redditors Vent and Complain When People Mock Their "AI Art" (futurism.com)

Setting aside the usual arguments on the anti- and pro-AI art debate and the nature of creativity itself, perhaps the negative reaction that the Redditor encountered is part of a sea change in opinion among many people that think corporate AI platforms are exploitive and extractive in nature because their datasets rely on...

I just call the people in my Discord who generate AI images AI Handlers because to me it’s like getting a half trained unruly animal to do what you want. That being said when they take requests for character art for tabletop games they put out some good stuff. It’s just a tool to be used and it often takes an experienced handler to get what you want out of it.

I’ve forgotten the name of the paper but I read a fairly in-depth report on human/dog co-evolution and how it has ingrained an instinctual understanding into each other even as little more than babies for both species.

Wait seriously, like not at all? If so I can only assume you live out of the US or literally under a rock if you do live in the US.

Dud ,

Or I just don’t know who you are or what your intent/context was over text on the Internet. Seeing as I’m not the only one a little confused/taken in by your sarcasm it might not have been the greatest punchline.

So… Workplaces should do a better job of providing detail instructions? Cause I sure as shit could of used better instructions doing something the first time when I was getting out of high school.

Well that creative problem solving is going to come from experience, I just don’t like making sweeping generalizations of ones capabilities due to a lack of exposure. Too many times people in leadership positions either don’t want to teach or forget/take for granted what it was like to be new at something.

Dud ,
@Dud@lemmy.world avatar

Well I think you’re starting to wander from the topic at hand but I think we can at the very least both agree that better documentation could be helpful getting into something new out of high school.
