I just watched Hardware Unboxed demonstrating a last gen completely obliterating current gen in both raster performance and raytracing, in the $500 range.

I have been massively enjoying this rerun of the radio series on @BBCRadio4 of the much missed + @neilhimself 's genius book .
It's been wonderful to introduce a whole new generation to both Pratchett and Gaiman's work.
A big recommend if you haven't read/heard it.

(Have not seen TV series so can't compare to that)

FWIW, the adaptation of Good Omens is probably my favourite. I have read the book & seen the TV version, but the radio adaptation wins for painting mind pictures & humour. If you are a fan of and haven't heard it, do listen.

I installed and… I can't even link my account. 😅

Well, it's a test release―that is public―so, I guess that's understandable.

Have you tried it? How's your experience?

📖 According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, the world will end on a Saturday. A Saturday quite soon, in fact.

The whole of our six-part adapation of @neilhimself and Terry Pratchett's wonderful 1990 fantasy Good Omens is on BBC Sounds now - and you can listen from anywhere in the world. Tell your friends, good or evil.

Gimme all of the angst, I can handle it… I SWEAR! 😈 😇

Don't forget to stream Good Omens (Seasons 1 and 2), give them good ratings, keep sharing it across social media and support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes to help make Season 3 happen! The writers and actors deserve a livable income and reasonable work hours/conditions, as well as the opportunity to make the high-quality art they want to share with the world 💚

@darth Frontier: Elite II - I never had an Amiga, but being a huge fan of Elite on the C-64 this was a reason to want one. I got to play it much later on the PC.

Fun fact - the Amiga version's actual executable file was only around 400 KB (uncompressed), its small size partly due to the entire game being written in assembly language while its universe was mostly procedurally generated.

Well not sure when I'm gonna get around to Baldur's Gate 3 but I guess if nothing else, it is time to start playing Divinity Original Sin 2 for the very first time.

What's that "Aww fuck I wish I knew that before I started" thing that I should know before I start?

Been Alpha, and now Closed Beta testing an new MMO, Palia. (https://www.palia.com/). It's a "casual" MMO more around crafting and community building than the typical "Murder Hobo" dynamic. If it sounds interesting, check it out. If you do sign up, use my link (below) because I can get some cool in-game stuff if you do and you'll get an in-game fruit basket when it goes open Beta.

I didn’t know this existed, @neilhimself reading the first chapter of “the 13 clocks” by Thurber with animation by Juan Declan https://vimeopro.com/juandelcan/animation-juan-delcan/video/31299484 - warning, it is a teaser to get you to read the book, which you really should!

It’s not like @neilhimself needs the help 😂 but I’m sharing his ridiculously successful new Kickstarter anyway: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dunmanifestin/good-omens

I don't generally like KickStarter, because sometimes the people don't ever follow up again after they get the $$. But I'm trusting the Pratchett Estate and @neilhimself and @ColleenDoran on this one. It just started today 8/1 It's almost 2pm EDT and it's already reached it's £25K goal! Congratulations y'all!!

Another day, another -- this time, @ColleenDoran's long-awaited adaptation of @neilhimself and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dunmanifestin/good-omens

Colleen's previous adaptations of Neil's work have been works of art, and won a lot of well-deserved awards, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

(NB: this adapts the book, not the TV show; related, but not identical.)

There's an early-bird tier available only today, so I recommend giving it a look now…
