Adjusted userContent.css (fenix) to apply fenix colors to all about pages using regexp and selectively fix about pages to better fit display.
Updated on November 9th 2023:
Adjusted userContent.css (fenix) to fix a mistake that I had made. Sidebar size variable was in color section at top, being applied to all screen sizes; it is now properly set for smaller screens only, for the specific about pages that require it.
Updated on November 10th-12th 2023:
Added userContent.css (non-colorized).
Adjusted the following files to properly allow space for Tab Manager Menu button and toolbar items:
Elon's "extremely hardcore" toxic work culture means people are forced to take Adderall without a prescription to meet their workload. Just ask SpaceX employees.
"Some SpaceX workers resorted to taking Adderall to keep up with the pace of work at the company's launch facility, and others found themselves falling asleep in the bathroom during long workweeks, a recent Reuters investigation found.
"Travis Carson, a former SpaceX worker at the company's facility in Brownsville, Texas, told Reuters some workers took Adderall — a stimulant designed to help people with ADHD improve their focus and concentration levels — without a prescription to keep up with the pace of work."
Methamphetamine is serotonergic. Adderall is not. Methamphetamine tends to induce psychosis that makes the user hostile and dangerous. Adderall certainly can, but the chances of that happening are hardly comparable. There are numerous valid reasons why meth has an extreme stigma and Adderall does not. Attempting to infect Adderall with that stigma makes life so much harder for people like me who can’t function without taking it. People ought to be precise with their language when they talk about things they understand, and they ought to be silent about things they don’t understand. Other than to ask questions to attempt to understand of course, but how often does that happen?
This article discusses how the contemporary system of labor relations treats employees as things rather than persons thus denying their humanity, and violating rights they have because of their personhood. Instead, work should be democratically controlled by the people doing it
I am not rejecting the sensibility or agreeability of the principle on its merits as a moral principle, but I do reject your characterization of any representation of responsibility as being a “descriptive fact”.
I feel, unfortunately, that such conflations represent a thematic flaw latent throughout the argument.
Simply because we approve of particular facets of social relationship and social structure, we may not assert them as facts, transcending our preferences, whether individual or shared, except as that they are facts of our preferences.
Responsibility has many meanings. We are referring specifically to de facto responsibility, which is descriptive concept about who intentionally did an action. De facto responsibility's meaning combined with facts about humans imply its inalienability. We can imagine fictional scenarios where the facts about humans are different such that de facto responsibility is alienable.
In reality, the whole product of the firm is a premeditated and purposeful result of the workers' actions. @workreform
Who's excited for tonight's shudder TV double feature (9PM Eastern, 6PM Pacific): birth/rebirth and The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster? I'm pretty sure @stina_marie is in.
I'm gonna try to watch both movies but it depends on how I feel. It was a busy day.
Hope to watch at least the first one but if not, I'll watch them soon.
For the hashtag, how about #SHWA for Shudder Watch Along? Then we can reuse it for the other ones this month, too.
Or someone think up another one- I thought up the first one & happily demure to anyone else who wants to give it a go. 🤘🏼
In celebration of the birthday of @neilhimself here is the first page of the first of four one-issue short stories he penned as part of the Tharg's Future-Shocks series. This one is from Prog 488 of 2000AD, published on the 20th of September, 1986: "You're Never Alone With A Phone!" Script by Neil Gaiman with artwork by the late John Hicklenton and lettering by Tom Frame. #NeilGaiman#2000AD

Hurrah... good sense breaks out in the #NorthWest as the 'Waitrose of the North', Booths begins to get rid of self-service check-outs.
Given the price premium at Booths, we (the customers) want the social interaction with staff at the checkouts, not be told to 'scan & bag'!
More importantly, not only do checkouts provide regular local employment, they are also for many semi-isolated shoppers a key bit of rare social interaction... so a welcome reverse!

I have found a really great solution: I'm in a Co-op. That's a little community store that orders bulk for you and has basic items and produce right there. I pay a little monthly fee and get to shop in this friendly DIY environment. I can chat, I can hang out, or I can just collect my stuff and leave. I feel totally relaxed there. No annoying ads, lights, sounds or music. Just the things everyone needs in a tiny store, and my boxes on a shelf with my name on it, if I ordered bulk. And the atmo is so incredibly nice, that I often start a convo just for the fun of it.
Really excellent dual-author piece in the Nation on why separating 'types' of autism into different diagnoses is harmful to all autistic people. #actuallyautistic
Gifted autistic here. I have a very spikey profile. Spatial thinking and word association are off the charts (literally broke the test) and two others are medium. Worst is memory at „normal“ + debilitating trauma puts me at 90% disabled.
"Convergence of low points on a spiky profile" is a good theory; comorbidity is also a good theory. I don't think we have enough data to even guess which, yet. But ultimately I don't think it matters ... the solutions are the same regardless.
It is a hand held device used to get water from the bucket, a tub, or a bigger tank to poor it on oneself. It could look like a bug mug or a pan, maybe without a handle.
Another word is ladle, but that’s usually cooking, like to serve out soup. Most places in Europe have enough clean hot running water that people shower, or climb into the tub and wash there.
