Well, here's my #introduction to Mastodon. I'm a literary fiction writer and occasional journalist, currently travelling in #Oceania. Would love to connect with other writers, readers and anyone who cares about #books, and I'm up for some political and environmental discussions too. Happy to have found a corner of the web that feels something like what the web was meant to be.
@andrewblackman One thing I should have mentioned yesterday is there is a group @bookstodon where you will run across many readers and writers. You can follow the group (and assorted hashtags of your specific interests), and add the group to your bookish posts.
I believe there is at least one writers group out there too.
It is a hand held device used to get water from the bucket, a tub, or a bigger tank to poor it on oneself. It could look like a bug mug or a pan, maybe without a handle.
Another word is ladle, but that’s usually cooking, like to serve out soup. Most places in Europe have enough clean hot running water that people shower, or climb into the tub and wash there.

Good to be cautious about that source (I am a fan of Wikipedia: it's just that one needs to know how to evaluate it, esp. when controversial subjects provoke editing wars). Anyway, I spend way too much time reading about genetics, but that is a basically accurate characterization. A prominent interpretation is that, although both males and females came to Europe, male intermarriage with local females created the genetic profile. Main point here, tho, is Mideast ancestry

FCC to restore #NetNeutrality and also, hey, to protect our online activity from scrapping--be it for #ArtificialIntelligence training without our consent, or for even more nefarious purposes.
When the public comment period opens, for your own interest, comment--the vultures will, by the thousands, using bots/AI, so we need to show up and make sure our voices are heard, and our interests protected.

@RubyJones@herhandsmyhands@romancelandia Agreed. I just literally have no patience for these kinds of things. It really baffles me that a lot will even say it enhances productivity! I can’t remember the author now, but it was an erotica writer that did use LLMs and she was super proud of the fact. I haven’t read one of her books ever since because I simply don’t want to pay for generated content. How is This so difficult for others to comprehend?
