My current phone doesn’t have a headphone jack, but if it did I would every day. Still use wired every day on laptop and pc.

I would if I had one, I use a lightning adapter with wired headphones

Fake4000 ,

I use my earbuds most of the time for music and podcasts, but the wires ones are mainly for gaming because of latency.

Always. Everything besides the cell tower connection happens wired. No Bluetooth or WiFi .

I go wired. I use a pair of Sennheiser HD497 headphones I’ve had for 20 years. They still sound decent with a USB-C adapter at one end. It gets used daily on the train to work, and at work for zoom calls.

Everything about wireless annoys me. The price. The futzing around to pair it. The constant recharging. Having to “prepare” them before going out. The awful encoding artifacts. Radio interference. Walking around looking like an autistic kid with noise-cancelling earmuffs…

My wife does daily to plug into our car. When she recently got a phone without a jack, I bought her a dongle for charging and audio.

Does she use wired audio daily? Yes. Does her phone have a headphone jack? Well, no.

I had to buy an adapter. I much prefer wired earphones, as somebody else commented, it’s much easier to switch wired ones between devices. With wireless you also have the issue of disconnecting them if you want audio through the phone speaker. I hate Bluetooth anyway.

I also prefer the earphones which sit just in the ear, rather than the current style of ones that need to be forced inside. I don’t think you can get wireless earphones like that, probably because they would be lost easily. I like proper headphones too (so that’s an option for wireless), but they are quite bulky so not always convenient.

A few years ago I would have said every day, but I got a really good pair of Bluetooth Bose headphones that have wireless charging so I don’t have to worry about anything anymore. After work they get put on a charging pad then in the morning I grab them and they’re ready to go.

Never.

You’ll never hear from the people who don’t miss it because it’s nothing for us to talk about, so it seems like everyone only wants them back when in reality the vast majority don’t care.

nicetriangle ,

I don't have one anymore but even if I did I wouldn't use it. Much prefer wireless.

I do.

I don’t use it every day because I’m at my PC a lot on a normal day, and I use wired headphones plugged in to that instead. I do use it often when traveling, both for IEM-style earbuds that block most external noise, and to plug into rental cars, family members’ cars, etc… with an aux cable. Yes, Bluetooth is an option on most newer cars, but it’s slower to set up than a cable, and not all the cars I end up driving are newer.

fpslem ,

Agree with this, a headphone jack is occasionally very useful, especially when traveling. I had a Google Pixel without a headphone jack and I was surprised how much I missed it, I got an adapter just to restore that functionality.

Weekly, since i moved i don't really care how much noise i make, but i still use my wired headphones daily with my computer

papabobolious ,

I want it mostly for aux in various cars. Also neat to plug into PC speakers and such.

I’d pass up on fingerprint scanner and nfc before the jack tbh.

Every evening in bed I hear audiobooks for a bit. Simple wired in-ears are good for laying on your side (only one side in) while they won’t be lost that easily as wireless ear buds. Also they never need to be recharged
