I wish all game companies put out detailed requirements like this!

who creates low contrast images like this? White text on grey background, are you fucking kidding me?

Son_of_dad ,

I get it but it’s very easy to read. Unless you have vision problems you don’t know about

wccrawford ,

Everyone’s monitor is calibrated differently. That can massively affect readability on low-contrast text. Plus, those letters are a little blurry there, too, which doesn’t help.

I can read it on my monitor calibrated with a calibration device, but it’s not comfortable.

avater , (edited )
@avater@lemmy.world avatar

White, regular styled text on grey is destined to have a low contrast, so by design it is not “very easy” to read.

lud ,

Unless you have vision problems you don’t know about

Yes exactly. The contrast of text should be enough so that it doesn’t matter much.

it looks like this 😅

xavier_berthiaume , in Ghost Of Tsushima PC requirements revealed

Do we know if it’ll run on steamdeck/Linux?

testeronious OP ,

I think that none of the playstation games had trouble running on linux. I believe their problems were the pc port in general

xavier_berthiaume ,

Oh, well here’s to hoping the port is good!

steal_your_face ,
@steal_your_face@lemmy.ml avatar

The minimum specs look deck friendly 🤞

velox_vulnus , in Ghost Of Tsushima PC requirements revealed

SuckerPunch should release all the Infamous series on PC/Linux.

testeronious OP ,

damn, I’d love that. Played both playstation 3’s infamous, but I didn’t buy a playstation 4 to play infamous second son.

donio , in Steam’s FPS Fest is on now!

System Shock (2023) at a new low at $17.99.

VelociCatTurd , in Steam’s FPS Fest is on now!

Seems kind of meh

FraidyBear , in More games should do this

I have played many games similar to this one, and I hate to admit this, but I think I’m too stupid for CK3. I just don’t know enough about English royalty/gentry shit to keep up.

ICastFist ,
@ICastFist@programming.dev avatar

I always assumed from videos I’ve watched that the point of the game is to either manage shit around Europe/Asia or fuck around as a noble of Bumfucknowhere, denouncing the pope, spying on your spouse, sending your entire court to jail, all for shits and giggles.

NoIWontPickAName ,

I want a battle sim version of ck3.

Like Digital Risk but with terrain and type advantages right down to being able to control different active battlefields as the general or maybe even squad formation level if you wanted.

The background can be all the complicated incest avoidance/embracing.

Basically the opposite of ck3.

I still want the option to make allies or trade treaties, just maybe let me hand it off to the cpu if I want

bob_lemon ,

You just described the Total War series

ICastFist ,
@ICastFist@programming.dev avatar

Yep, @NoIWontPickAName could look into Medieval 2 Total War for the combat where terrain, morale and troop fatigue matters, though it’s sorely lacking in the incest department and internal political intrigue.

NoIWontPickAName ,

Alas, incest simulator three will just have to wait

DragonTypeWyvern ,

The point is create a eugenics empire of giant geniuses who come out of the womb ready to tear a grown man’s head off his shoulders.

And that other stuff.

psmgx ,

I went with beautiful albinos, but same idea

ThunderclapSasquatch ,

On my last CK3 run I seduced the Pope, went on pilgrimage to Jerusalem, picked a twink in Syria, then made him a lord in Northern Italy upon our return, then my character lost his fucking mind and banged the man’s wife

some_guy , in More games should do this

I’m loving CK3 right now.

Godric ,

Where are you posted? In my current run, I started as the count of Gotland, and then invaded Frisia. A few generations later, and all of the British Isles are viking, as is Scandinavia, Germany and France.

Last I played, my dynasty had 10 Kingdoms under its belt, ruled by various cousins and uncles of the main branch.

DragonTypeWyvern ,

The new Legend mechanic is pretty hilarious with the Asatru horde. I’d conquered all of Catholicism by my second ruler because you can spam out the generic Defender of the Holy Site legend, spread it fast as fuck because of course they gave the Norse more bonuses, and basically buy a Kingdom Holy War CB every couple of years while also mass converting territory.

Then the second ruler died and I’m still on Confederate Partition so now there are five Norse Empires in control of Western Europe. I’d considered going full Blood Empire and trying to eradicate all dynasties but mine but I’m not sure that’s even possible anymore.

some_guy ,

I’ve been playing Norse for a while. Just switched back to the Ireland campaign. I’m pretty new to the game and still learning how to effectively retain control after succession.

I started on xbox, which strips out a lot of granularity and only picked up the full version on a kbd/mouse device about a month ago. Reading game tips made me aware of mechanics that xbox lacked. I haven’t lasted more than several generations because I still learn from mistakes and start over. I’m getting there. Great game.

Godric ,

Love the game, been playing Ck2 and 3 for about a decade now.

A big part is making sure your lands are not split up too much each generation. Usually this means conquering or revoking from a vassal a new duchy per son, so the core remains intact on sucession. Like real life, Tyranny is just a number if you have the army to back it up.

Another big part is military strength. Betroth your newborns to people with big armies. Keep in mind the product of said unions will inherit claims to your land. Also, Knights and Men at Arms are wayyyy stronger than levies. If you’re playing Norse, they cost prestige, not gold, so you can maintain as many as your monthly prestige income allows, and battle, feast, and raid to boost your prestige over time to afford more.

Raiding is a HUGE boon for the Norse. Best places are counties in Ireland early, and then Brittany, Spain, and Cornwall as you become more powerful. Just be sure you scout the place out and make sure the ruler doesn’t have better troops than you, or you’ll go home with nothing!

some_guy ,

Thanks! I saved this comment to review later when I’m more awake.

500 dollars for a skin!? Either CS players are the biggest suckers in the world or this has to be a scam. Or both.

pineapplelover ,

As a CS player, I’m offended. I think it’s also justifiably expensive because of the rarity to generate those skins.

pineapplelover , in Money Laundering

Probably a bunch of rare stickers on the gun

edgemaster72 , (edited ) in Money Laundering
@edgemaster72@lemmy.world avatar

Am I misreading this graph or is it implying there were previous sales around $100 or so? I just don’t fucking get the gun skins thing.

huginn ,

That’s about right.

It’s ultimately a function of rarity and the cost of gambling on boxes.

On average I expect they pay more than $100 to get it out of a box.

Krafting , in Money Laundering
@Krafting@lemmy.world avatar

Or maybe one with some really rare stickers? Even tho it seems way too much yeah

Fiivemacs , in thank you steam for letting us add custom logos

I just want the ability to block an entire publisher or developer from ever showing in my store pages. Namely, all EA and Ubisoft products.

Myr ,
@Myr@lemmy.world avatar

Me too. I have to meticulously do it myself, clicking the name of the publisher and just going down the entire list of subpar quality “services,” so many new tabs. But like any infestation, there are always many more boxes to check perpetually.
