How are people not hating (and even liking) Star Trek Enterprise?

They’re supposed to sound like TNG Klingons. Everybody sang in the squeaky range. A variety of voices would have been nice. Ethan Peck’s a baritone. More than one note of Spock’s big number could have been there.
• “Under the Cloak of War”. The flashbacks in this episode are set during the Federation-Klingon War seen during DIS season one, and a large part of that conflict was the new Klingon cloaking devices that T’Kuvma, and then Kol installed on their various ships. Get it? Yeah, you get it....
LoglineWhen Captain Burnham is trapped within a “mindscape” designed to test her worthiness to retrieve the Progenitor’s powerful technology, Book, Rayner, and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery must hold off the Breen long enough for her to escape....
My partner is into DS9 and suggested we watch some last night. For some reason episode 1 was not available on Amazon Prime.(?) We watched Past Prologue and A Man Alone. As someone who is only barely familiar with the Star Trek universe, here are my thoughts:...
…a...
Just why send bridge crew. Those crew are important and mean to stay on the ship. Unless the mission required someone on the top like first-mate, you should send your boarding team or land team on mission....
Trip: A poop question, sir? Can’t I talk about the warp reactor or the transporter?...
LoglineCaptain Burnham and Book journey into extradimensional space in search of the next clue to the location of the Progenitors’ power. Meanwhile, Rayner navigates his first mission in command of the U.S.S. Discovery, and Culber opens up to Tilly....
LoglineThe Lower Deckers go on a classic cave mission....
By that I mean that the basic premise being: that the means of (re)creating new technology is lost, the current technology around is treated as sacred and the function marred in elaborate rituals or prayers because they don’t know how to otherwise operate it, and to a lesser extent that new ideas or (often xenophillic)...
I know a strictly military-focused show goes against Roddenberry’s vision, but what are the chances that we could see some sort of war-focused Trek in the future? The scenes in “Under the Cloak of War” (SNW 2x08… yes I’m a few weeks behind) fascinated me. What would a MAS*H-style show look like in Trek? Could the show...
I watch TV while eating, because TV takes my mind off the textures of the food and helps me dissociate from eating. I also have a very active imagination and ability to immerse myself in a show...
• The episode title references the mirror universe, a dark reflection of the familiar reality of Star Trek where humans, or Terrans as they’re more commonly called there, evolved to be more sensitive to light, resulting in everyone tending more towards malevolence, and barbarism, and queer coded villainy. Other episodes...
Hey there,...
I’m not happy with how the episode with the gorn ended. I really really liked Hemmer as a character and his arc was cut short way too early....
qaleghqa’neS!...
I don’t know who greenlit this supposed celebration of TAS, but the writing is cheap, lowbrow and cringey. It’s a total shame that the amazing animation and sound design are paired with this quality of writing. None of the three eps released so far impressed me....
It’s been fun seeing so much of Kirk this season, but does that mean he’s now a regular? I don’t see how he could take a position on the Enterprise for years yet, so would that imply he just keeps coincidentally visiting all the time? Starts to strain plausibility after a while.
The quality of Star Trek in 1997 was an embarrassment of riches. Some of the best parts of the Dominion War on Deep Space Nine, Scorpion and Year Of Hell on Voyager, and First Contact in theaters. It was a great year to be a Star Trek fan!...
For me it is the dinner-scene in “the undiscovered country”....
I first got into trek with the 09 movie. It was a lot better than I expected and a good friend of mine is huge into Trek....
