You magnificently put into words why I always disliked Enterprise. By failing to continue the original continuity, I think it was basically the end of Star Trek for a lot of us.
You were given two warnings. When you first made a post questioning why it was removed, and on your second post questioning why it was removed. They were locked and you were given multiple reasons by myself and other mods.
You were banned for abusing the report function and using it as a super complaint button. This can be seen in the modlog where there is a screenshot of you doing exactly that.
Your original title was that of another users name on a different instance. You were actively causing drama. You have been told this now 4 times. This was directly proven with more screenshots in your second post.
You know, I think you’re just kind of a troll just trying to stir shit up for no reason.
First of all following me here to continue harassing me is not ok.
You were given two warnings.
I was given ZERO warnings, the post was quietly removed with no reason given. In my second post a mod only said “drama” which is not against the rules, and locked it before I could even ask for clarification/defend myself.
You were banned for abusing the report function
I reported three other posts that were more “drama” than mine including one from a mod. That’s hardly “abusing”.
Your original title was that of another users name on a different instance.
As I pointed out there was a post on the front page doing the exact same thing, and in a post sticked to the top of the instance. There was clearly nothing rule breaking about that. Also I changed the title.
You were actively causing drama.
Again, “drama” is not against the rules, you just personally didn’t like it.
I wouldn’t have said anything if there was a rule about it, there wasn’t. The tenforward community was formed because of this behavior in another mod. I was not given a chance to edit my post it was just quietly removed because Stamets didn’t like it.
What a coincidence I was banned too. No reason given as you might suspect. Stamets sent me a DM this morning threatening me for “posting too often” I was mad because there was no previous rule about it but agreed anyway. Then he added a rule to the sidebar after the aggressive DM. He asked me not to post more than 3-4 times an hour and I complied now I came back to post more and am banned.
He was upset because I posted a meme critical of Discovery and called him out when he gave a rude response to my meme.
Typical mod tantrum. I had hoped we escaped this on Lemmy…
I’m really glad you’re doing this, Guy. I personally will likely not be taking part because I usually watch DSC at earliest the evening after it’s out and I almost certainly will not get to watch 5x01 on April 5th. But it’s good for the community to have this!
Eh. Season 3 is more coherent than 1 and 2, but I found the season-long arc to be ridiculous nonsense that wasn’t compelling at all. You know how TOS and early VOY in particular just get real weird every once in a while? DIS season 3 had that energy, except when TOS or VOY did it, it was a one-episode experiment with no lasting repercussions. DIS season 3 spent a whole season on it and there are enormous repercussions for the Trek universe.
Season 4 is definitely the most cohesive season in terms of story and theme, and did raise some interesting (if cliché) concepts. However, I found it to just be terminally boring.
I’m not quite sure what to make of season 5 from the trailers. The description on YouTube tells me that we’ll be embarking on “an epic adventure across the galaxy” which could describe every other season of DIS all the same. It looks like it’s definitely going to be… another season of Discovery, and all that entails.
I just finished watching season 3. I think the premise had great potential (with the Federation being a fraction of itself). Just like Voyager had a fantastic premise, but sometimes fell flat. I feel like the season started pretty well, but felt rudderless by the middle/end. I actually prefer Seasons 1 & 2.
Like a chest infection that had you off work for a week and the doc gives you antibiotics, but you’re still left with a lingering cough and bit of a sore throat for a long time after.
