They build them compressed in Earth’s atmosphere, and they expand to full size in the vacuum of space.

This is the best post I’ve seen this year.

Utopia Planitia looks more rustic than I thought it’d be!

Picard is after Lower Decks. 2380s for Lower Decks 2399-2402 for Picard. Also Riker and Deanna are older in Picard than in Lower Decks.

I’m an idiot. I thought this picture was chronologically by star date.

Oh, haha. Yeah, I didn’t make it I just wanted something nice for the post.

TAS?

aeronmelon OP ,

As in, is it included? Yes. The Animated Series is interwoven with the last season of The Original Series, sorted, more or less, by stardate.

Sorry, I’m already learning STA, because that’s the one with a Lower Decks supplement!

Planning to do a one-shot for next First Contact Day, where, to learn about children ahead of her motherhood, Suzie Plakson’s Q sends a group of Academy cadets (my players) back in time to the Vulcan ship that detects Zephram Cochrane’s flight. On-board, the Vulcans are indisposed, due to a group Pon Farr, so the cadets have to work together to defeat a Gorn time traveler that is there to prevent the founding of the Federation, and the events that lead to what they see as the end of Gorn society

I haven’t played this game, but I was not very impressed with the STA system.

Oh thank god. Skydance is utter, utter shit. They would just destroy Star Trek. Sony might actually help it, because they’re pretty good about pushing franchises, but if that’s dead, it’s dead.

brucethemoose OP ,

The worst case scenario is pretty bad though, namely Paramount implodes and licensing nonsense means Trek has to be pulled from distribution platforms, with literally no legal way to watch.

EDIT: I’m less worried about this for Trek than Avatar though. I know it has a rough history with being put on ice, but it’s still a big, provably profitable IP.

FlyingSquid ,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

I wonder if there is some sort of legal way to transfer the rights to Roddenberry Entertainment if Paramount folds?

brucethemoose OP ,

If Roddenberry Entertainment has an absolute fortune to burn and can somehow separate the license from the pile of IP it will be bundled with, maybe.

Dead IPs tend to be squatted on, too potentially valuable to just give away.

But again, now I think Trek is just too popular and profitable for this to happen. Some shark will find a way to pick it up.

Unrelated but what a weird question structure. Took me a minute to get what they were trying to do there and i speak spanish natively
