I am curious if there is a good solution for getting notified about concerts. I’m imagining software that scans your music collection (mp3s, Spotify, YouTube music, etc) and then sends a notification when one of your artists is playing nearby.
What the title says. I was looking into paperless-ngx but it seems to offer no built-in security. I’d ideally want some kind of encryption and if i enable remote access have some control over sensitive documents
TLDR:...
I see some very good deals on RackNerd through LowEndbox. Is the company reliable? I.e. I’m hoping there’s not going to be a situation like NexusBytes. Could someone confirm?
I just installed a mesh WiFi network in addition to my ISP-provided router that could barely reach upstairs. I had some locally hosted services set up as per Mediabox. All containers were set up with my machine IP(?) 192.xxx.x.xx and were working great inside my network, which is all I wanted to do while I’m learning. I...
Hey guys, For my home server I am using a Cloudflare domain name to access it, but I noticed today that my connections are secured using the Google Trust Services LLC certs, rather than the Let’s Encrypt certs Nginx Proxy Manager uses… so I’m assuming that cloudflare is having a ball sniffing all my traffic before...
Hi y’all,...
I’m making a homeassistant sever with my raspberry pi and and i’m wondering since it’s going to be on 24/7 that the fans going to wear out much faster than intended. I can’t imagine that I would need a fan ontop of a heat sink and thermal paste it can’t get that hot? I should also note that i’m using an Argon V2...

I am very new to self-hosting and Lemmy and the Fediverse so it’s entirely possible I’m missing something simple here. I have spun up my own Lemmy instance and have added lemmy.world to the Allowed Instances. For some reason, I’ve stopped getting content from lemmy.world communities and I am getting a lot of logs saying...
Hi! I’m currently running a bunch of docker containers on an old optiplex desktop I got from a local used PC store a year or so ago. Since I’ve been really enjoying this hobby and it’s stuck around, I now want to upgrade my hardware while also downsizing the physical size. I was thinking of getting an Intel NUC but it...
Does anyone know what’s going on with Tailscale on Android TV devices? The official site says it’s available on the Google Play Store, but it is not. I’ve read people have successfully installed it by sideloading it. I’m just not sure how safe that is. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi everyone. Before anything else, I would like to mention that I do not plan to expose absolutely anything to the internet other than using a VPN, and that’s if necessary....
Been having a frustrating but rewarding time setting up my first server with some advice from you all. Learned a lot and feel like I’m almost there with a lot of it. One thing I’ve really been struggling with is public indexers on Prowlarr. In the UK I can only access them behind a VPN but Prowlarr can’t access the rest of...
I recently found out about shiori. It’s absolutely great and does exactly what I need, exactly how I need it....
I’m interested in using Jellyfin. I learned that you can install the Jellyfin “channel” on any Roku device to stream to it. I have a TCL Roku TV and when I search for Jellyfin nothing appears. Also when I follow the link from Jellyfin’s website to Roku’s website it redirects to the main channel page and when I search...
So here’s the problem that I have, I have several generations of back ups, which are currently taking over huge amounts of space on my NAS server. I want to be able to go through and process all of the files that are on it while the duplicating, and possibly going through and tagging any files that I find that are helpful. Is...

Hey there, I’m not exactly sure where to post this, but I have been trying to solve this issue for hours now. I have an old Intel NUC which runs Ubuntu/Docker with Sonarr, Jellyfin etc. I’ve found that it is slightly too slow for ‘live’ transcoding through Jellyfin. Enabling hardware transcoding I’m experiencing speeds...
I would like to back up my nextcloud data using duplicati, but I absolutely can‘t figure out how to give Duplicati access to the Nextcloud volume. Both are running fine in separate Docker containers. I can’t figure out how to properly mount the volume, below is my current compose for duplicati. Do I need to mount the volume...
Hi guys, this might or might not be entirely off topic. I am looking for a solution that would in a civilized manner allow me to gather photos and maybe videos from a bunch off poeple....
Hey guys,...
