Hey guys, I’m running a simple docker compose server on an old laptop, hosting calibre(web), nextcloud and navidrome exposed on a cloudflare domain. Nextcloud allows 2fa, however navidrome and calibre web don’t, so I thought I’d better get onto setting up Authelia…...

Such a good feeling cancelling my paid tier on Dropbox this week. I’ve been ‘playing’ at self hosting for a few months, and now I’m confident in my infrastructure and processes so I can start turning off some of the cloud things I’ve been paying for....
First post from my new, self-hosted, personal instance. Feels good!
When i connect to my jellyfin server to stream/download video/audio the speeds are tied to my internet speed. If my internet speed drops so does the transfer rate from my server. However it seems tied to my internet download speed (which varies from 0.5 to 80 mb/s), not the upload speed(which is usually 2 mb/s), and if i...

So here’s my situation. I’ve been looking for a long time for a self-hosted photo library. I have pretty low requirements: I just want it to be able to show the videos and images I have stored on my NAS in a random order, and to support a slideshow of those files, also in a random order....

My home lab has a mild amount of complexity and I’d like practice some good habits about documenting it. Stuff like, what each system does, the OS, any notable software installed and, most importantly, any documentation around configuration or troubleshooting....
I am trying to finally get my homelab organized, and I need assistance visualizing my network. I am just wondering if there are tools out there that assist with this. I have tried the paint and gimp routes, and I find myself spending more time trying to make it look good and organized rather than actually mapping my network. Is...
Like the title implies, I’m trying to figure out where to pickup cheap used or new battery backups (ups) in Canada....

May the uptime be long and the logs without errors (and not just because logging is broken!)

I’m new to self hosting and just starting to experiment with web development. I’ve been reading and cross-referencing several guides, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to put together all the pieces to achieve what I’m looking for. Maybe the perfect tutorial is out there, but I just haven’t found the right search...
I am trying to host my own Lemmy instance. It was running great for awhile. I built the server using the ansible method. When I tried to rebuild the docker containers with ansible last night, I ran into this error....

I’ve been creating separate accounts for some of my selfhosted services, some are to further sub-divide the data, but for sure I always have an admin account and the account I use day to day....
