For anyone else out there who has Vikunja deployed using docker, please take note that the vikunja/api and vikunja/frontend containers have been combined into a single vikunja/vikunja container as part of release 0.23. You will have to update your compose files to reflect this change as part of the upgrade. I just went through...
As said in the title really. Youtube-dl and forks seem to break when they catch up with the stream.
I have a NAS which I use for storage and I have a Pi which I use for serving applications....

Not my blog, just a good community share!
I’m having a problem with one of the apps that interacts with something I’m hosting. Alternative apps aren’t having the same problem and neither is the webpage UI. Having purchased the app, I emailed the developer for some help and they said they didn’t know what the issue was and that it could probably fix it if they...
This is kind of hard to explain, but hopefully it makes sense. I don’t think a screenshot would help because everything “LOOKS” fine. But the characters in my Ubuntu VM console look funny. And I can’t drag my mouse across the text to select it. Nor cacn I right-click. The console works fine, and I can run commands. I...

I’m currently using a VPS from contabo and am curious if I would get better performance CPU and disk I/O wise because of the dedicated resources. The bigger VPS from contabo seem to be in a similar ballpark to the cheapest options available in the hetzner server auction when it comes to corecount, ram and disk size and price.

I am worried that externally caused vibrations might damage my HDDs (NAS in the planning). The subway / metro runs under my building, and every time the train passes, this causes slight but measurable vibrations in the 50-100 Hz frequency range. It is more like a rumbling noise than the usual vibration of a passing train....
Buonasera, Mi presento qui perchè non so dove farlo.
Hello!...
I’m looking for hardware for my new NAS. Is there any Intel CPUs which support Quick Sync and ECC memory at same time? And is there any MB which semi officially supports ECC? I usually use AMD CPUs for servers, but any AMD CPU with build-in video does not support ECC....
I’ve got a lot of local media stored, and some of them have the incorrect audio track selected as the default audio track....
This has been solved. After calmly yelling at my ISP support for 3 weeks, they finally conceded and admitted that this is their problem and not mine. It will be fixed soon, maybe. Probably not, but hopefully. I’m not hopeful, but maybe it might be....
OpenVPN-Client is running normally, per its logs and ifconfig.me. The vpn.ovpn and vpn.auth files are working properly....

Hello everyone,...
I know that for decades now, hard disks don’t really reveal their actual internal geometry (which is complicated anyway, since inner cylinders may have fewer sectors than outer cylinders, etc.), and present fictional geometries to satisfy legacy software, but I found it weird anyway....
I’m looking for a duplicate/similarity checker against a custom set of documents. This is possibly like a plagiarism checker, but with a custom reference (instead of everything that exists)....
Hey guys,...
