Are there any self hosted photo library solutions that support using S3-compatible storage?
I’m considering adding an SSO process in front of my self-hosted apps such as Nextcloud, Calibre-Web and Immich. The thing I’m thinking about, is do I need to make two accounts for each user I want to add? If I have a new user, do I need to make an account for both the SSO provider and the protected app such as Nextcloud? Or...
I’m experimenting with running NextCloud (AIO) on a VPS with a B2 bucket as the primary storage. I want to compare performance compared to running it on my home server (esp. when I’m remote) and get an idea of the kinds of costs I’d rack up doing it....
Original post here. First, thanks to everyone who responded. Thought I’d write up an update on my progress....
I love Sentry, but it’s very heavy. It runs close to 50 Docker containers, some of which use more than 1GB RAM each. I’m running it on a VPS with 10GB RAM and it barely fits on there. They used to say 8GB RAM is required but bumped it to 16GB RAM after I started using it....
I recently decided to switch to proper wireguard instead of tailscale and finally be fully opensource on my home server, however, when I uninstalled Tailscale I lost internet on the server. I’ve tried editing the resolv.conf and rebooting a couple times but I can’t find anything else and I am square out of ideas. Has anyone...
I don’t know when it started, I usually check my instance through the Voyager app and it never showed a problem, but I’m suddenly getting “server error” and 502 bad gateway errors on my instance on desktop. I haven’t made any major changes (read, any at all) since I last confirmed it worked on desktop....
Pinry is like Pinterest, but open source and you can very easily self-host it. I just installed it a few days ago and it’s really easy to learn; I’ve saved a few images in it that I wanted to keep. It’s very handy, IMO....
I’ve been slowly working my way though a list of skills to learn, both to put on my resume and as personal growth. Networking is the next thing on this list. I am not sure what I am looking for, but I want to start another project. I have built many a personal computer, but the world of networking is a pretty foreign concept...
I have a very short equipment rack installed in my server closet. It is only 16 inches deep, fine for most networking uses, but not great for most rack-mount server cases....
Is there any self-hosted application that can monitor your watch history and provide movie/TV show recommendations?
Hello, I recently got into Photoprism and it’s now my one and only app that I care to spend time feeding. Except Google says I’m running out of space please buy more and I want to do badly but nah. So I found mailu to be a pretty simple docker. Photoprism was working so well initially as dynamic DNS and then I moved to...
Calibre is pretty decent but it’s slow and buggy and bloated. Plus it’s pajeetware so there’s another reason not to use it. What alternatives do you recommend?
Hi everyone. Basically the question; has anyone bought server parts off of PrimeBuy and Insight.com? Are they trustworthy?...
I posted previously about containerizing Squadrick’s clone of Typehere.co. There have been some fixes recently and I finally got around to uploading it to Dockerhub so it is about as easy to run as is physically possible....
I have a Podman container with Jellyfin running in it. It runs fine without SELinux, but it always crashes whenever SELinux is enabled. This will be an instance that will only be accessible in my private network....

How can I kill this evil thing?...
I recently found out about shiori. It’s absolutely great and does exactly what I need, exactly how I need it....
My household has recently bought some smarthome equipment that I’m now obligated to set up and teach my housemates to use, so I’ve been trying to modify my existing OpenMediaVault server to simultaneously run HomeAssistant in a Docker container....
Hello :)...
Hi,...
I have a little side business of doing minor repairs on phones and tablets and such....
Hey there, I’m not exactly sure where to post this, but I have been trying to solve this issue for hours now. I have an old Intel NUC which runs Ubuntu/Docker with Sonarr, Jellyfin etc. I’ve found that it is slightly too slow for ‘live’ transcoding through Jellyfin. Enabling hardware transcoding I’m experiencing speeds...
