I’ve used Roundcube for years and finally got fed up with it breaking on every update because of the plugin system. Are there better options around?
Do you need a domain name if you are hosting a Lemmy instance, or will it work fine with just an ip-address + port (e.g. @:)?

Hello! I was wondering if running periodically a script to automatically pull new images for all my containers is a good or a bad idea. I’d run it everyday at 5.00AM to avoid interruptions. Any tips?...

all the containers change IP addresses frequently. For home assistant a static IP address of the proxy manager is mandatory in order to reach it. For jellyfin it is useful to see which device accesses jellyfin. If the IP always changes, it doesn’t work properly....

NAT seems to do that just fine, it’s almost like a kind of firewall by itself. What kind of threats are there that requires more than just NAT for security?
A couple of years ago, IFTTT did a thing where they asked people to sign up to premium and they could pay whatever they like and could keep the service forever. I didn’t use many of the services, but thought it made sense to try and preserve something so useful for in case I did need it. In the meantime, I would allow it to...
So what can we do to combat this Spam posting as a community? Anyone have any ideas?

I run a load of containers on a NAS, and reverse proxy them through synology’s inbuilt reverse proxy settings....
Are there any good server-based podcast managers out there?...

I’m planning out my next homelab when I move soon. I have the floor plans and it looks like the best place for my computer is not centrally located, so the Wi-Fi won’t be ideal. I’d like to run the cables a short distance so the router would be in a better spot....
