Commit messages of my personal projects are filled with just “fix”. Life is too short to write a proper commit message

I know its a joke, but cutting PFF power is never a good idea. It makes any kind of forensics a lot harder, and its probably not going to help anyway. You should isolate the computer from the network, and then call a professional.

However, putting the computer to sleep/hibernate it may help, just so I.e ransomware can’t continue encrypting, but maybe still has keys in memory, if you’re lucky. This is only my theory, though, not sire what are the best practices.

Been trying to understand why I’m like this and I’m noticing the minute the sun starts going down , I become more focused.

I think this is because the sun is no longer a massive glaring ball of gas my brain has to manage.

I can’t tell if my hypothesis has any scientific validity but it’s what I tell my managers.

No one does this kind of stuff because someone asked them to do it. This is the kind of useless, insane stuff you do for the lulz, or because someone dared you.

Honestly more readable than a lot of SQL I’ve read. It even has hierarchical grouping.

somePotato ,

I was disgusted by the XML at first, but it’s a readable query returning a sane JSON object.

Meanwhile, I’m mantaining Java code where the SQL is a perfectly square wall of text, and some insane mofo decided the way to read the resulting list of Object[] 🤮 is getting each column by index… so I’d switch to SQXMLL in a heartbeat.

Ohmyzsh with the git plugin is my fave - gaa & gcmsg “a commit” feels like the right level of verbosity for me.

Wow what’s the plugin name I wanna try it out.

alphabetsheep ,

The plugin is just called “git” it comes with ohmyzsh out of the box. You just have to enable it in your zshrc.

[conventional commits] (www.conventionalcommits.org/en/v1.0.0/) will save you.
or maybe commitizen if you’d like not to write them by hand.
and maybe commit and tag version, which will create changelogs for you of you follow semver

eluvatar , in GitHub Desktop or Git CLI?

I only use it to clone projects via the Open in GitHub desktop link.
