I won’t. It’s just leaving the impression that the people running that homepage have some horrible political takes. Could have been avoided by chosing some less politically loaded examples, like Isaac Asimov, Charlotte Bronte, JRR Tolkien, George R R Martin or Mary Shelly.

Horrible, in your opinion… Genuine scholars will have books of differing opinions from their own on their shelf. Or else they would just be in an echo chamber. Besides, what does one’s political take have to do with the quality of the software that they work on? It’s like those that quit drinking Bud Light. Maybe. But these aren’t differing opinions, but all roughly the same horrible opinion. I like George Orwell. But putting him next to Rand, Hayek, etc. puts 1984 into a different context.

The politics of these fellas strictly countradict the philosophy most FOSS projects follow. It’s not a big deal, but makes me do a double take.

I use playbook. It’s fine. Simple, good controls. Works with super-long files and smaller subset files.

I’m pretty sure I got it on fdroid.

If you have a library card they may use the Libby app for ebooks and audiobooks. My apologies for a non-piracy answer.

I’m with you. All the other replies seem to assume you already have the audiobooks you want. Are you trying to stream audiobooks you possess or source audiobooks?

If you want to host it, audiobook shelf is great. I use it for audiobooks, ebooks, and podcasts.

Other than that I’d just say get a library card and use Libby. If you have files in your phone playbook works but I don’t remember if its on fdroid.

No, I guess it doesn’t connect to any streaming service. I use Google Drive to store my books and just copy whatever I need from there.

Look, you’ve already got the best audiobook player. The problem you’re having now is sourcing, the solution is to get a MyAnonymouse account. They do open registrations fairly often and it’s literally the easiest private tracker to keep up with. You may not want to torrent, but I don’t think you’re gonna find a better way to get the selection you want. MAM really is the best.
