A lot of people weren't alive or were too young to remember the militia movement of the 90s. McVeigh and Nichols spent a lot of time perfecting their bomb and had lots of associates who felt the same way they did.
They're not all dumbfuck yokels. Some are very motivated to inflict ad much harm as they can and they haven't gone away.
