Jeff Harmon, his brother and co-founder of Angel Studios, took to X to add: “He is one of 6600+ crowd investors. Seriously, who sorted through 6600 names of random people who put a few hundred dollars into P&A funding and cross checked it with local judicial databases? That’s a lot of work for a nothingburger.”

They always think of deliberate persecution (someone dug up dirt on 6000+ people to target us!) vs reality (news of the arrest broke and this came up investigating his background). I don’t know how broken your brain has to be to think of the former rather than concluding the latter. The alternative is that they know it’s the latter but they lie to deflect because they know their party is made up of mindless idiots who can’t think for themselves.

Probably a mixture of both, really.

Angel Studios announced on Wednesday that it had repaid all 6,678 investors who crowdfunded the film’s theatrical debut, plus a promised 20 percent dividend, given the movie’s phenomenal $174 million takings at the box office on a budget of $19 million since being released in early July.

Newsweek previously reported that Fabian Marta, one of the many who helped fund the movie, was arrested in late July and charged with accessory to child kidnapping, according to a Missouri court filing. Marta has denied any wrongdoing and his attorney has said he will plead his innocence in court.

I don’t plan on seeing the film, but this is quite a stretch to get the headline: “One of your 6,678 investors is a piece of shit! GOTCHA!”

I mean aside from Tim Ballard who has been lying about his credentials, or Jim Cavaziel who constantly promotes Qanon bullshit, both are core to the making of this Qanon “satanic panic” movie, there’s plenty of pieces of shit to go around here for this movie.

As the case is still pending, presumption of innocence - but even if the guy is guilty, that doesn't mean that an unrelated investment doesn't have to be fulfilled. I'm sure this guy has a job; should be also be shouting that his employer direct deposited his last paycheck?

Just because someone is accused or even convicted of something, even if that accusation or conviction is horrible, doesn't mean that "anyone who owes him money doesn't have to pay it anymore." In the US, consequences of conviction are ordered by the court at sentencing.

This story is bullshit.
